Cristina is een midden- tot grote kruising, geboren maart 2023. Cristina werd als pup gered uit de straten van Crevedia in Roemenië. Ze kwam in het VK in september 2023 en werd snel geadopteerd, maar werd na een paar weken teruggebracht omdat ze geen goede relatie had met de man in dat gezin. Cristina werd in Roemenië door een man verzorgd en er is ook een man in haar huidige tijdelijke opvang, waarmee ze goed overkomt. Cristina woonde met een kat en een klein kind in dat huis en hield ervan om te spelen met hen, maar soms werd ze "te veel" omdat ze onhandig en enthousiast is. Ze is een liefdevolle en trouwe jonge vrouw voor wie ze iets betekent. Ze zou profiteren van één-op-één training om dat enthousiasme te beheersen, maar wij vinden haar levensvreugte wel leuk! Ze is een benige, onhandige, liefdevolle idioot die alleen maar een beetje tijd nodig heeft. Ze houdt van haar wandelingen en is goed gedragd buiten, maar kan argwaan hebben tegen mensen die ze niet kent die haar huis binnenkomen. Cristina houdt van spelen met andere honden in haar tijdelijke opvang, maar zou iedere andere hond of honden in het gezin moedig moeten zijn, want ze zou te veel zijn voor een meer terughoudende persoon. Ze kan echter ook als enige hond leven als ze voldoende beweging en stimulatie krijgt. Cristina heeft een ervaren eigenaar nodig, ze is veel, maar ze is ook erg leuk en grappig. Ze is niet voor iedereen, maar voor de juiste persoon zal ze de hond zijn die je nooit vergeten zult. Cristina was in opvang bij Norwich Norfolk. Als je geïnteresseerd bent, stuur dan een bericht of bel tussen 9:00 en 17:00 maandag tot vrijdag of tussen 9:00 en 16:00 zaterdag. Afnamebijdragen vanaf 1 december 2025 zijn Puppies al gesteriliseerd en alle volwassen honden: £430. Ongesteriliseerde puppies op een kaartje/sterilisatiecontract: £530 (Je ontvangt een korting van £100 als je ons bewijs van sterilisatie stuurt). Oudere honden (10+ jaar): £150–£250 (afhankelijk van leeftijd en individuele behoeften). Aanneemvoorwaarden Wanneer je een hond van Safe Rescue adopteert, MOET je een slipleid (slip lead) gebruiken. Dit houdt je hond veilig: je nieuwe hond is nerveus en vertrouwt je niet, en je weet niet welke situaties je hond kunnen storen. Als je hond in paniek raakt, is een slipleid de enige manier om te voorkomen dat je hond ontsnapt (veel honden kunnen ontsnappen uit een halsband en/of nippelriem). Het zal minstens 3-6 maanden duren voordat je hond zich heeft aangepast en je hem volledig kent (langer voor nervoze honden). De slipleid moet DUREND deze aanpassingsperiode altijd worden gebruikt. Zelfs nadat je hond zich heeft aangepast, is het veiliger om de slipleid te gebruiken in situaties waarin je hond bang kan worden (bijv. bezoeken aan nieuwe plekken, rond onbekende mensen, bij de dierenarts), en in situaties waar onverwachte triggers kunnen plaatsvinden (bijv. rond vuurwerkavond). Nervoze honden hoeven altijd een slipleid te dragen als back-up veiligheidsmaatregel. De slipleid is een veiligheidsapparaat en mag NOOIT worden gebruikt als oefeninstrument. Het gebruik van de leid om druk op de hond nek te leggen is schadelijk. Als je hond aan de leid trekt, kunnen we je adviseren over trainingstechnieken die schade vermijden. Nadat je hond zich heeft aangepast, kun je overwegen een riem (tezamen met de slipleid) te gebruiken, indien je hond comfortabel is met het aanpassen ervan. De meeste riemen zijn niet ontsnappingsbestendig, maar riemen met een strook achter de ribben (bijv. Ruffwear Webmaster of Perfect Fit Riemen) zijn veiliger. Cristina is a medium to large sized crossbreed, born March 2023. Cristina was rescued as a pup from the streets of Crevedia in Romania. She came to the UK September 2023 and was quickly adopted but was returned after a few weeks because she didn’t have a good relationship with the man in that household. Cristina was cared for by a man in Romania and there is also a man in her current foster home, both of which she gets on well with. Cristina lived with a cat and a small child in that home and loved playing with them but sometimes got “a bit much” as she’s clumsy and enthusiastic. She is a sweet and loyal girl with those she loves. She would benefit from one to one training to curb that enthusiasm, but we quite like her zest for life! She is a leggy, clutzy, lovable fool who just needs a little time invested in her. She loves her walks and is well behaved out and about but can be wary of people she doesn’t know entering her home. Cristina is loving playing with the other dogs in her foster but would need any other dog or dogs in the household to be confident as she’d be too much for a more reserved character. She but could live as an only dog if sufficiently exercised and stimulated. Cristina needs an experienced owner, she’s a lot but she’s also great fun and so comical. She’s not for everyone but for the right person she’s going to be that dog you never ever forget. Cristina fostered Norwich Norfolk. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer.
