The barking of other dogs is a constant alarm for her. The metallic sounds of the bars, raised voices, sudden movements. She looks at people with suspicion. Not because she doesn’t want to love, but because she’s already been hurt once and her world collapsed. She’s small, young, delicate, and frightened. In the shelter’s reality, she can’t find herself. This is not a place for such a fragile female dog. Who will give her a home? Safe. Stable. Understanding. One that will be forever?
