Chip (αριστερά) και Archie (δεξιά) αναζητούν ένα νέο σπίτι μαζί. Θα ήθελαν ένα τραπέζι για να παίξουν και να χαλαρώσουν. Προτιμούν ένα ήσυχο σπίτι και να έχουν κοινωνία το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ημέρας. Και τα δύο κορίτσια είναι 8 χρονών και θα καλυφθούν από το Πρόγραμμα Γήρατος Σκύλων στο νέο τους σπίτι, που σημαίνει ότι η DAS θα πληρώσει για οποιαδήποτε μη-προγραμματισμένη ιατρική φροντίδα που μπορεί να χρειαστούν για όλη τη ζωή τους, εντός των ορίων. * Και τα δύο κορίτσια είναι φοβισμένα - Ο Chip είναι ιδιαίτερα άγριος με τα άτομα και ο Archie είναι ιδιαίτερα φοβισμένος, οπότε θα είναι καλό για αυτούς να είναι μαζί. Οι νέοι ιδιοκτήτες τους θα χρειαστεί να είναι πολύ υπομονετικοί μαζί τους, ειδικά ο Chip. Θα ήταν ιδανικό για τον νέο ιδιοκτήτη τους να έχει εμπειρία με Χιχουαχουάς. Ο Chip φωνάζει στους επισκέπτες αν είναι στο κιβώτιο του, αλλά αλλιώς θέλει απλά να τον ξυρίσουν. Ο Chip είναι καλός στους ιατρούς και είναι καλός στα ταξίδια στο αυτοκίνητο. Φωνάζει σε ξένα ήχους γύρω από το σπίτι. Μπορεί να φωνάζει συχνά, αλλά θα σταματήσει αν του πει κανείς. Είναι καλό να τον αφήσουν για λίγες ώρες. Στις βόλτες, ο Chip φοράει ένα ζεύγος και δεν προσπαθεί πολύ να τραβήξει το σχοινί, αλλά το κατάλαβε ιδιαίτερα κακά. Ο Chip είναι καλός να του δώσουν μια μπάνιο και να τον ξυρίσουν. Είχε πάει σε φροντιστήριο προηγουμένως χωρίς προβλήματα. Ο Chip θα ήθελε ένα σπίτι που μπορεί να του δώσει πολλή προσοχή, θα αγαπάει τα περισσότερα. Ο Chip χρειάζεται περισσότερες βόλτες/εκδρομές για να εξοικειωθεί περισσότερο, φυσικά σταδιακά. Ο νέος ιδιοκτήτης του θα πρέπει να πάει αργά μαζί του, αλλά ο Chip έχει μεγάλο χαρακτήρα και θα είναι ένα κοντινό, αγαπητό σύντροφο. Ο Archie είναι επίσης λίγο φοβισμένος, αλλά αφήνει να τον πετάξεις και είναι καλό μετά. Αν και φέρει συχνά ένα παιχνίδι. Είναι ένας αρκετά καλός παρατηρητής και αγαπά πολλά περισσότερα. Το αντέχει ένα μπάνιο. Chip (left) and Archie (right) are looking for a new home together. They would love a garden to play and relax in. They would prefer a quiet home and to have company most of the time. Both boys are 8 years old and will be covered by our Old Dog Scheme in their new home which means DAS can pay for any non-routine veterinary care they may require for the rest of their lives, within reason.* Both boys are shy – Chip is particularly worried around people and Archie is quite timid, so it will be good for them to have each other. Their new owners will need to be very patient with them, especially Chip. It would be ideal for their new owner to have experience with Chihuahuas. Chip will bark at visitors if in his crate but otherwise will just want to be petted. Chip is fine at the vets and is okay travelling in the car. He will bark at unfamiliar sounds around the house. He can bark often but will stop if told. He is fine to be left for a few hours. On walks, Chip wears a harness and does not really pull on the lead but his recall is poor. Chip is fine to be bathed and brushed. He has been to boarding kennels before with no problems. Chip would love a home that can give him lots of attention, he loves cuddles. Chip needs to be taken on more walks/outings to be socialised more, in stages of course. His new owner will need to go slowly with him, but Chip has a great personality and will be a close, loving companion. Archie is a bit timid too but he will let you pet him and he is fine afterwards. He will bring you a toy sometimes too. He is quite a lap dog and loves lots of cuddles. Archie is fine at the vets and does not bother with other dogs. Archie wears a harness on walks and is good on the lead and seems to have okay recall. Archie loves a treat, he smiles when you give him one! He can be left alone for a few hours. He is fine at travelling in the car and is happy to be picked up as he is too small to jump in. Archie has been to boarding kennels before and enjoyed it. He tolerates a bath. Archie is scared of raised voices so would like a quiet home. *OLD DOG SCHEME: Dog Aid Scotland’s Old Dog Scheme covers dogs rehomed at 8 years old or above. This means that we will cover costs for veterinary care for the dog for the remainder of their life within reason. We do not cover costs for routine treatments such as vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. If the dog requires special dietary food we will contribute 50% of the cost. This will alleviate the worry of the financial implications taking an older dog into your home. Older dogs make great pets!
