Είναι ένα ήρεμο και σταθερό κοριτσι. Ακόμα της αρέσουν βραδινές βόλτες. Ταιριάζει καλά με όλα τα σκυλιά, αλλά είναι αρκετά κυρίαρχος μέλος της ομάδας. Κρατά στο φρόνο όλα τα νεότερα σκυλιά στο κέντρο με μια αυστηρή αλλά δίκαιη προσέγγιση και τα λατρεύουν και τη σεβόνται γι' αυτό. Μπορεί να ζήσει ευτυχισμένα ως το μόνο σκυλί στο σπίτι. Όροι και Προϋποθέσεις Απόκτησης Στην απόκτηση ενός σκύλου της Safe Rescue πρέπει να χρησιμοποιήσετε ένα λεπτό ιμάνι. Αυτό θα κρατήσει το σκυλί σας ασφαλές: το νέο σας σκυλί θα είναι ανησυχημένο και δεν θα σας εμπιστευτεί, και δεν ξέρετε ποιες καταστάσεις μπορεί να το ενοχλήσουν. Εάν το σκυλί σας επιτεθεί, τότε το λεπτό ιμάνι είναι η μόνη τρόπος να αποτρέψετε το σκυλί από τη δραστηριότητα (πολλά σκυλιά μπορεί να ξεφύγουν από κράσπαδο ή τσελενιά). Θα χρειαστούν τουλάχιστον 3-6 μήνες για να εξοικειωθεί το σκυλί σας και να γνωρίσετε το σκυλί σας πλήρως (μεγαλύτερος χρόνος για τα ανησυχημένα σκυλιά). Freya is a large crossbreed aged around ten years old. Not yet cat tested. Can live with or without other dog. Respectful children 12 plus. She was found in bushes in Crivatu Romania a few years ago and was taken to the private shelter nearby. She is a calm and steady girl who enjoys walks and walks nicely to heel and doesn’t pull. She mixes well with the other dogs in her foster home and generally ignores most dogs she meets outdoors. She isn’t keen on ‘in your face’ dogs so wouldn’t want to live with a lively dog, she prefers peace and quiet. She could also live happily as the only dog in the home. Freya is an affectionate and loyal companion who would suit someone with large breed experience who can pamper her in her twilight years. She would be ok with respectful children aged twelve plus. She’s well behaved and clean in the home. She enjoys fuss but isn’t demanding. Freya loves getting into the car and settles down calmly as she knows it means ‘walkies’ in the woods/park. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
