Freya è un incrocio di grandi dimensioni con circa dieci anni. Non ancora testata con i gatti. Può vivere con o senza altri cani (può essere dominante in un branco). Bambini rispettosi dai 12 anni in su. È stata trovata in un cespuglio a Crivatu in Romania alcuni anni fa e portata nel rifugio privato vicino. È una ragazza calma e stabile che ama ancora le brevi passeggiate. Si intende bene con tutti i cani, ma è abbastanza dominante nel branco. Mantiene tutti i giovani del rifugio sotto controllo con un approccio fermo ma equo e tutti la amano e la rispettano per questo. Potrebbe anche vivere felicemente come unico cane in casa. Freya è una compagna affettuosa e fedele che si adatterebbe a qualcuno con esperienza nei cani di razze grandi che possa coccolarla nei suoi ultimi anni. Sarebbe accettabile con bambini rispettosi dai 12 anni in su. Freya è stata in affidamento a Kings Lynn Norfolk. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 il sabato. Le quote di adozione sono: Cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: 430 sterline. Cuccioli non castrati contrattati per la sterilizzazione: 530 sterline (riceverai un rimborso di 100 sterline una volta che ci invierai la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): 150-250 sterline (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Condizioni per l'adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI utilizzare una guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà sicuro il tuo cane: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non si fiderebbe di te, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il cane. Se il cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per evitare che scappi (molti cani possono scappare da collare e/o guinzaglio). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per far abituare il cane e conoscere completamente il cane (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve sempre essere utilizzato durante questo periodo di adattamento. Anche dopo che il cane si sarà ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni dove il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visite a luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni dove potrebbero esserci trigger imprevisti (es. intorno alla notte dei falchi). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre il guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Applicare pressione sul collo del cane con il guinzaglio è dannoso. Se il cane tira il guinzaglio, ti possiamo suggerire metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si è ambientato, potresti considerare di utilizzare una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è abituato ad essere maneggiato quando è fissata. La maggior parte delle cingie non è antifuga, ma quelle con una cingia dietro le costole (es. Ruffwear Webmaster o Perfect Fit Harness) sono più sicure. Respectful children 12 plus She was found in bushes in Crivatu Romania a few years ago and was taken to the private shelter nearby. She is a calm and steady girl who still enjoys short walks. She mixes well with all dogs but is quite a dominant member of the pack. She keeps all the youngsters at the shelter in check with a firm but fair approach and they all love and respect her for that. She could also live happily as the only dog in the home. Freya is an affectionate and loyal companion who would suit someone with large breed experience who can pamper her in her twilight years. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
