Dopey Su historia: En noviembre recibimos una llamada de uno de los guardias caninos del condado sobre 7 perros que habían sido abandonados en una zona de descanso en 2 cajas para perros. Se describieron como todos pequeños y asustados. Cuando llegaron al rescatista, los llevaron dentro ya que nunca habían llevado correa o collar. Descuidados y sin saber quién éramos, las uñas muy largas, pelaje con olor a orina. ¿Dónde se habían mantenido estos pobres perros? Cruzados entre sí, aprovechados, estos pobres perros eran conmovedores. 4 meses después todavía tenían miedo. Los hemos bañado, les hemos hecho la limpieza y les hemos dado medicamento antiparasitario (sí, sus estómagos estaban llenos de gusanos). Han sido castrados para que sus cuerpos ya no puedan ser maltratados. Necesitarán entrenamiento para ir al baño. Pero aún necesitarán mucho tiempo y no estarán listos para ser reubicados en semanas, sino en meses. Con 7 perros que llegaron un solo día, no tuvimos otra opción que nombrarlos según los 7 enanitos, Bienvenido Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy y Dopey. *Sneezy, Sleepy, Doc y Grumpy ya están en un nuevo hogar con éxito. Lamentablemente perdimos a Happy.*

*We are now taking applications on DOPEY and BASHFUL, who are almost there, but will need a quiet , understanding home, willing to continue their training, including toilet training. Dopey Their story: In November we received a call from one of the counties dog wardens about 7 dogs who had been dumped in a lay-by in 2 dog crates. They were described as all being small and frightened. When they arrived at the rescue they were carried in as they had never worn collars or even seen a lead. Neglected and with no idea who we were, nails too long, coats smelling of urine. Where had these poor dogs been kept? Inter bred, used, these poor dogs were heart breaking. 4 months on and they were still scared. We have bathed, groomed and wormed (yes there tummies were full of worms!). They have been neutered so their bodies can no longer be abused. They will need toilet training. But they are still going to need a lot of time and weren’t be ready to be re-homed for months rather than weeks. With 7 dogs arriving in one day, we had no choice but to name them after the 7 dwarfs, Welcome Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey. *Sneezy, Sleepy, Doc and Grumpy are now successfully in a new home. Sadly we lost Happy. *
