Gitana fue entregada por su cuidador junto con Flamenca y Bailaor. Ya no era útil para él, estaba ocupando espacio para otros perros más jóvenes. Así que la entregó a uno de nuestros refugios asociados. Gitana se ha adaptado muy bien al cambio. Es una chica feliz y segura que enfrenta todo con facilidad. Es divertida y tonta y extremadamente cariñosa. Realmente ama a las personas y estar con ellas. Le encantan sus tiempos de juego donde puede correr en el gran corral con los demás perros. Es muy saludable y en forma a los 10 años y actualmente no muestra señales de disminución, como tantos otros perros. Sería una excelente adición para muchas familias: podría convivir con otros perros o también estaría contenta como único perro. Como es muy segura y centrada en las personas, tampoco tenemos muchas restricciones sobre el tipo de hogar en el que podría vivir ya que es muy versátil. Gitana está castrada, vacunada y ha dado negativo para todas las enfermedades mediterráneas excepto Babesia - como ya se indicó, ha dado positivo y está recibiendo tratamiento para esto, por lo tanto podemos retestear para confirmar que está completamente libre. Gitana was handed over by her hunter alongside Flamenca and Bailaor. No longer of use to him, she was taking up space for other, younger dogs. So he passed her over to one of our partner kennels where she spent a couple of months before making her journey to the UK. Gitana has adpated very well to all changes thrown her way - first the shelter in Spain, then the move to the UK where she settled in incredibly quickly. She is a happy, confident girl who takes everything in her stride. She is funny and goofy and incredibly loving. She really loves people and being around them. She loves her play times and engaging with other dogs. She is very fit and healthy at 9 years old and isn’t currently showing signs of slowing down, like so many other pods! She would make a lovely addition to many families - she could live with other dogs, or would also happily live as an only dog. She is great out and about on her walks even next to busy roads with buses and emergency vehicles, sleeps through the night, eats well, is clean in the house, has been left for a couple of hours without issue. As she is super confident and human focused, we also don’t have many restrictions on the type of home she could live is as she is very versatile. Her foster describes her as ‘an absolute Mary Poppins - practically perfect in every way!’ - what more can we say! Gitana is neutered, vaccinated and has now tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases, after initially testing positive for Babesia - for which she received treatment and now has the all clear.
