Imagina un Setter de tamaño mediano, con todo el carácter de los Setters, con ese pelaje largo y liso, la cola poblada, las orejas, todo, realmente. Ahora píntalo de negro intenso. Negro como el alquitrán, ébano, negro azulado, lo que quieras llamarlo, y una vez que lo hayas pintado, deja uno o dos mechones blancos en el mentón y el pecho y en una pata, como si te hubieras quedado sin pintura negra justo cuando casi habías terminado y eras demasiado perezoso para abrir otro recipiente. Ese es Hermes. Un tipo de Setter, pero casi completamente negro, tan feliz y energético como debe ser, tan dulce como debe ser, y ocasionalmente un poco loco, pero no de manera insoportable. Es un perro que anhela el contacto humano y todas las cosas que puede hacer con las personas: paseos, juegos, caricias, compañía, todo. Tiene el completo deseo de hacer, de vivir, de aprender; quiere vivir, amar y ser amado. Con ejercicio diario adecuado, algunas reglas en casa, un horario, una rutina y un poco de paciencia, Hermes se convertirá en un adorable mascota que te amará y a quien amarás mucho.

Imagine a medium-sized Setter, with all the character of Setters, with that long, smooth coat, the bushy tail, the ears, everything, really. Now paint it pitch black. Tar-black, ebony, blue-black, whatever you want to call it, and once you’ve painted it, leave one or two white tufts on the chin and the chest and on one paw, as if you ran out of black paint just when you were almost done and were too lazy to open another container. That is Hermes. A sort of Setter, but almost completely black, as happy and energetic as he needs to be, as gentle as he should be, and occasionally a little crazy, but not unbearably so. He is a dog that craves human contact and all the things he can do with people: walks, play, cuddles, companionship, everything. He has the full desire to do, to live, to learn; he wants to live, to love, and to be loved. With proper daily exercise, some house rules, a schedule, a routine, and a little patience, Hermes will become a wonderful pet who will love you and whom you will love very much.
