Luca es tímido y se asusta y huye al ver a alguien que lo mire. Ha estado con nosotros para siempre, de verdad. El próximo año será DIEZ AÑOS los que ha estado en el refugio. Y los primeros diez años fueron horribles. Pero ya no. Ya pasaron esos días horribles. Luca es sumiso. Luca es muy sensible. No haría daño a una mosca. Luca nunca tuvo la oportunidad de irse. Nunca fue considerado por nadie como su perro. Todos quieren un perrito divertido, un perro sociable, un perro bonito. Luca no encaja en esos estándares. Es adorable, para nosotros. Luca tenía un hermano y una hermana. Su hermano falleció el año pasado en el refugio. Su hermana Alice fue adoptada hace años y era aún más tímida que Luca. Cuando la mirabas, ella estaba tan asustada que defecaba. Un día una mujer angelical entró al refugio y me pidió mi perro más difícil de reubicar y lo adoptó. Alice vive en Finlandia y es conocida como la "Bailarina desnuda". Le encanta correr afuera sin abrigo y bailar. Queremos que a Luca le vaya igual. Creo que Luca ha aceptado que el refugio es su hogar. También creo que a veces, cuando nadie lo ve, se está divirtiendo. Esto es lo que me digo para no estar triste. Update 16.9.2025: Finally an update! Luca is getting more and more social in his old days. Doesn't he have a shining coat? He has been with us forever. Luca is shy and he is timid and he runs away at the sight of someone even glancing towards him. He has been with us forever, really. Next yet year will be TEN YEARS he has been at the shelter. And the first of those ten years were horrible. But not anymore. Long gone are those horrible days. Luca is meek. Luca is highly sensitive. He would not hurt a fly. Luca has never had the chance to go. He was never considered by anyone to be their dog. Everyone wants the fun pup, the outgoing dog, the pretty dog. Luca doesn’t fit to those standards. He is adorable, to us. Luca had a brother and a sister. His brother passed last year at the shelter. His sister Alice was adopted years ago and she was even MORE timid than Luca. When you would look at Alice, she was so terrified, she would defecate. One day an angel of a woman walked into the shelter and asked me for my most difficult dog to rehome and she adopted her. Alice lives in Finland and is known as the Naked Ballerina. She loves to run outside without a coat and she dances. We wish Luca would have such luck. I think that Luca has accepted that the shelter is his home. I also think that sometimes, when no one is watching, he is having a good time. This is what I tell myself not to be sad. This video, which one of the caretakers secretly took, proves it. His story: Luca is a special dog who has been overlooked for far too long.
