20-09-26 Oona is a very nervous little girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is feeling quite overwhelmed by everything at the moment and is in need of lots of love, patience and TLC as she settles in. She is worried about being handled and it is clear that she has not had much socialisation before. However, once she is safely in your arms, she does begin to settle, which shows us that there is a sweet little girl underneath her worries who is waiting to learn that people can be kind. Oona absolutely loves other dogs and relies heavily on them for comfort and reassurance. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can be her friend and help show her that life is not something to be frightened of. Having a doggy companion by her side will be very important as she begins to find her feet. Oona is looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs and who understand that she will need plenty of time to settle at her own pace without expecting too much from her too soon. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog-savvy children aged 16+. As Oona has never lived in a home before, there will be lots for her to learn. Her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she discovers all about home life, including learning new skills such as house training. She is not yet walking on a lead, so her new family will need to start by gently introducing her to wearing a lead and harness around the safety of the garden, building her confidence slowly before venturing any further. Oona is a very sweet little girl and we hope that with the right home, a wonderful doggy friend and people who are willing to give her the time and understanding she needs, she will slowly discover the joys of life. She may take some time to blossom, but every little step forward will be incredibly special. Oona has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
