Duc es desafortunadamente uno de esos grandes perros negros que simplemente nunca tuvo una verdadera oportunidad en la vida. Duc ha estado viviendo con nosotros en el refugio SOS Animal en Calvia durante más de cinco años ahora, un increíble periodo de cinco largos años. Y antes de eso, ya había pasado más de dos años en la Perrera Calvià. Una historia de vida que hace que te sientas increíblemente triste 😔. Duc nunca fue realmente un perro fácil, tenía su propia historia especial desde el principio, lo cual por supuesto lo moldeó y que ciertamente no eligió él mismo. La persona adecuada nunca fue realmente encontrada para él, y en algún momento Duc fue uno de esos perros que siempre pasaban desapercibidos porque simplemente habían estado allí tanto tiempo. Duc siempre fue un perro con bordes ásperos y carácter, un perro muy especial. Un perro que necesitaba exactamente a esa persona, una persona muy especial. Con el tiempo, nosotros en SOS Animal nos convertimos en su familia, después de todo, no había otra opción para él. Los perros se adaptan a su situación en algún momento. En abril de 2020, cuando vino a nosotros desde la Perrera Calvià, se estimaba que tenía alrededor de 8 años. Eso significa que probablemente tenga unos 12-13 años hoy. Y hemos estado reteniendo su reubicación durante algún tiempo ahora, porque eso ya no haría ningún favor a nuestro Duc. Con los años, ha llegado naturalmente a ser cada vez más especial y a veces bastante impredecible. Nuestro perro mayor tiene a algunas personas en el refugio a las que realmente confía y quienes lo llevan a pasear todos los días y lo cuidan, eso es lo que hace su vida y espera y se lo espera cada día. Por supuesto, debido a su edad, ha empeorado considerablemente recientemente y no sabemos cuánto más vivirá. Solo podemos hacer todo lo que podamos para hacer que su vida en el refugio sea tan "cómoda" como sea posible. Por supuesto, a Duc le corresponde su propia jaula con nosotros, y eso será y seguirá siendo su "hogar😔" hasta el final. En esta jaula hay un sofá de sol, en un lugar donde tiene una buena vista de casi todo. Es su lugar favorito. DUC - es un ejemplo triste de muchos otros, especialmente grandes perros negros, que no han recibido una verdadera oportunidad en la vida. Y todo lo que queda ahora para nosotros es vigilarlo muy de cerca y hacer todo lo posible para asegurarnos de que pueda experimentar su último período de vida con tanta dignidad como sea posible, y definitivamente le hemos prometido eso 🙏❤.

Duc is unfortunately one of those big black dogs who simply never got a real chance in life. Duc has been living with us at the SOS Animal shelter in Calvia for over five years now – an incredible five long years. And before that, he had already spent over two years in the Perrera Calvià. A life story that makes you incredibly sad 😔. Duc was never really an easy dog – he had his own special story right from the start, which of course shaped him and which he certainly didn’t choose himself. The right person was never really found for him – and at some point Duc was one of those dogs that were always overlooked because they had simply been around for so long. Duc was always a dog with rough edges and character – a very special dog. A dog who needed just such a person – a very special person. Over time, we at SOS Animal became his family – after all, there was no other option for him. Dogs just adapt to their situation at some point. In April 2020, when he came to us from the Perrera Calvià, he was estimated to be around 8 years old. That means he is probably around 12 – 13 years old today. And we have been refraining from rehoming him for some time now – because that would no longer do our Duc any favour. Over the years he has naturally become more and more special and sometimes quite unpredictable. Our senior dog has a few people at the shelter whom he really trusts and who take him for a walk every day and look after him – that’s what makes his life and he waits and looks forward to it every day. Of course, due to his age, he has deteriorated considerably recently and we don’t know how much longer he will live. We can only do everything we can to make his life at the shelter as “comfortable” as possible. Of course, Duc has his own enclosure with us – and that is and will remain his “home😔” until the end. In this enclosure there is a sun lounger – in a place where he has a good view of almost everything. This is his favourite spot. DUC – he is a sad example of many other, particularly large, black dogs who have not been given a real chance in life. And all that remains for us now is to keep a really close eye on him and do everything we can to ensure that he can experience his last life span with as much dignity as possible – and we have definitely promised him that 🙏❤.
