Liam estaba con sus amigos una noche cuando presenciaron que Riki fue atropellado por un automóvil que pasaba. Trataron de atraparlo pero era feroz y a pesar del dolor en el que se encontraba no pudieron acercarse a él. Finalmente corrió hacia la bodega de los amigos de Liam donde lograron atraparlo. Se hizo evidente que había sufrido lesiones graves en sus patas traseras, lo cual fue confirmado con radiografías. Tuvo una operación para fijar sus caderas donde estaban las fracturas y lo trajimos de vuelta al refugio para que se recuperara. Riki ahora es un chico muy cariñoso y amigable que se ha adaptado muy bien en el refugio.

Liam was out with his friends one evening when they witnessed Riki get hit by a passing car. They tried to catch his but he was feral and despite the pain he was in they couldn't get near him. He eventually ran into Liams friends cellar where they were able to catch him. It became obvious that he had sustained serious injuries to his back legs which was confirmed with x-rays. He had an operation to pin his hips where the breaks were and we brought him back to the shelter to recover. Riki is now a very loving and friendly boy who has really settled in well at the shelter.
