Rory es un pequeño chico Kokoni, de unos 11-12 años, y realmente no entiende cómo terminó aquí. Un día, todo lo que conocía se fue, y al siguiente estaba en un refugio, con nuevos sonidos, nuevos olores, nuevas caras pasando como si no fuera real. Nada le parece familiar ya. Ni el suelo debajo de sus patas, ni las voces a su alrededor, ni siquiera el ritmo de los días. Pero Rory no ha dejado de ser dulce. No lucha contra el ruido. No pide atención. Solo se sienta en silencio, como si tratara de ocupar lo menos posible espacio en un mundo que ya le parece demasiado grande y demasiado ruidoso. Cuando lo miras, quizás lo pierdas al principio, no porque no sea especial, sino porque es tan suave que casi tienes que reducir la velocidad para verlo. Y aún así… sonríe. Es una pequeña expresión frágil, esa que hace que te preguntes cuánto tiempo lleva aguantando. Como si hubiera aprendido que ser bueno, estar tranquilo, ser fácil significa tal vez, solo tal vez, que alguien se quede. Rory no pide juguetes ni emoción ni nada complicado. Solo observa la puerta. Observa a la gente entrar y salir. Y cada vez, espera, en silencio, cuidadosamente, que esta vez, alguien lo mire y no pase de largo. Lo que realmente necesita no es mucho. Un lugar donde no tenga que ser valiente todo el tiempo. Una mano que no se vaya. Una voz que diga: "ya estás a salvo", y lo diga de verdad!! Rory sigue aquí. Sigue siendo dulce. Sigue sonriendo. Rory is a small Kokoni boy, around 11–12 years old , and he doesn’t really understand how he ended up here. One day, everything he knew was gone, and the next he was in a shelter, new sounds, new smells, new faces passing by like he isn’t quite real. Nothing feels familiar to him anymore. Not the ground beneath his paws, not the voices around him, not even the rhythm of the days. But Rory hasn’t stopped being gentle. He doesn’t fight the noise. He doesn’t push for attention. He just sits quietly, as if he’s trying to take up as little space as possible in a world that already feels too big and too loud for him. When you look at him, you might miss him at first, not because he isn’t special, but because he’s so soft you almost have to slow down to see him. And even then… he smiles. It’s a small, fragile little expression, the kind that makes you wonder how long he’s been holding it together.
