Sitka fue encontrado solo en un terreno cuando tenía 2 meses de edad, sin ningún hermano ni madre. Tiene una de las historias más tristes de los perros que están en el refugio: ha estado en el refugio toda su vida..... Cuando llegó como cachorro, se enfermó de parvovirus, y mientras la mayoría de los cachorros se recuperan del virus sin complicaciones, Sitka desarrolló rinitis, que cerró su acceso nasal, por lo que necesitó una cirugía. Después de la cirugía, dulce Sitka ha vivido una vida "normal", solo a veces hace sonidos de succión con su boca y su lengua puede mostrar más de lo que estés acostumbrado! Los resultados de las pruebas sanguíneas de Sitka son excelentes, es saludable y negativo ante todas las enfermedades mediterráneas probadas - es un chico fuerte y robusto. Sitka es verdaderamente un perro de regazo, ya era uno desde cachorro y continúa con su amor por sentarse en el regazo de la gente. Tenemos sesiones ocasionales de masaje disponibles para ancianos del refugio, y Sitka disfruta de su masaje mientras está sentado en el regazo del terapeuta. Es un chico cariñoso, cada oportunidad que tiene, conquista un regazo. Aunque haya pasado toda su vida en el refugio y no haya salido mucho al "mundo real", se comporta muy bien en sus días fuera. Es bueno viajando en el auto y haciendo aventuras contigo, y le encanta olfatear entre los arbustos, haciendo sus sonidos de cerdo trufador. Camina bien con correa en una ciudad y pasa coches, autobuses, personas muy educadamente. Solo ver a un niño jugando al fútbol lo puso emocionado y lo hizo chillar. Sitka también amaría acompañarte a un café tranquilo y mirar fijamente tu boca hasta que le des tu desayuno, que luego toma suavemente de tu mano. Sitka busca a sus humanos, quienes le den tiempo y espacio para adaptarse a una vida en el mundo humano, lentamente y con calma. El equipo del refugio ya ha comenzado con el proceso llevándolo al bosque, a la ciudad, a la cafetería, visitas a casas - pero necesita un hogar real. Un hogar tranquilo sin otros perros o niños, en un barrio tranquilo, sería ideal para él. Cuando ve cosas interesantes, también se emociona y hace un sonido de chillido, así que para la tranquilidad de todos, un entorno con menos cosas emocionantes sería maravilloso para Sitka! Cerca de la naturaleza, en un pueblo pequeño, un pueblo o las afueras. Su presencia amable y peculiar trae alegría a sus humanos, y es agradable estar cerca de él. Aunque es bastante un chico robusto, no es abrumador en absoluto y es fácil de manejar. Desde que Sitka siempre vivió detrás de barras metálicas, sin el calor de un hogar, estamos buscando un hogar amable, tranquilo y equilibrado para él, para pasar el resto de sus años en paz. Un hogar con rutinas simples, paciencia y bondad. Un sofá suave, quizás una alfombra mullida, noches juntos frente a la televisión y días juntos dando caminatas en la naturaleza, esto es lo que Sitka está soñando. Y por supuesto, nuggets de pollo. Sitka was found alone in a plot of land when he was 2 months old, without any other siblings or a mother. He has one of the saddest stories of the dogs that are in the shelter - he has been in the shelter all his life..... When he arrived as a puppy, he got sick with parvovirus, and while most puppies recover from the virus without any complications, Sitka developed rhinitis, that closed his nasal access, so he required a surgery. After the surgery, sweet Sitka has been living a "normal" life, he just sometimes makes slurping sounds with his mouth and his tongue can show longer than what you might be used to! Sitka's blood test results are excellent, he is healthy and negative on all the tested Mediterranean diseases - he is a fit chunky boy! Sitka is truly a lapdog, he was one already as a puppy and he continues his love for sitting on people’s laps. We have occasional massage sessions available for senior citizens of the shelter, and Sitka enjoys his massage while sitting on the therapist lap. A cuddly boy Sitka is, every chance he gets, a lap he conquests. Even though he has spent all of his life in the shelter, and has not been out in the “real world” much, he behaves so well on his days out. He is fine travelling in the car and going to adventures with you, and loves to sniff around the bushes, making his truffle pig sounds. He walks well on the leash also in a town and passes cars, buses, people very politely. Just seeing a child play football got him excited and squeeking. Sitka would also love to accompany you to a quiet cafe and stare in your mouth until you give him your breakfast, which he then gently takes from your hand. Sitka is looking for his humans, who will give him time and space to get used to a life in the human world, slowly and calmly. The shelter team has already started with the process by taking him out to the forest, town, cafeteria, home visits - but he needs a real home. A peaceful home without other dogs or children, in a quiet neighborhood, would be ideal for him. When he sees exciting things, he gets exited as well and makes a squeeking sound, so for everyone’s peace of mind, an environment with less exiting things would be lovely for Sitka! Near the nature, in a small town, a village, or the suburbs. His kind and quirky presence brings joy to his humans, and he is so pleasant to be around. Even though he is quite a chunky boy, he is not overwhelming at all, and is easy to handle. Since Sitka has always lived behind metal bars, without the warmth of a home, we are looking for a kind, quiet, balanced home for him, to spend the rest of his years in peace. A home with simple routines, patience and kindness. A soft sofa, perhaps a fluffy carpet, evenings together in front of the TV and days together taking walks in the nature, this is what Sitka is dreaming of. And of course, chicken nuggets. His shoulder height is approximately 56cm.
