Adoptar a Snoop

Snoop is an affectionate, people loving boy who enjoys being close to his favourite humans. Once he's settled, he's happiest playing with toys, having cuddles on the sofa, giving kisses, or showing off tricks he already knows. He's a clever lad who loves learning and has picked up commands including sit, down, stay, place, touch, recall and walks lovely on lead, but his brains and boredom can lead to some cheekiness, like rummaging on the worktops for anything tasty. Out and about, Snoop has been a pleasure to walk. He's enjoyed social walks with several other dogs, walking calmly alongside them. He's happy to watch livestock, traffic and other distractions before moving on, and has made fantastic progress with his confidence. The only area where Snoop needs understanding is that he can become over-aroused when food rewards are involved or clear boundaries are not set when he's super excited. If he knows treats are available, he can become overexcited and may jump up or mouth in an attempt to get them. However, when treats aren't part of the picture, this behaviour is rarely seen. We've found that Snoop responds much better to calm, consistent handling, praise, toys and clear boundaries rather than constant food rewards. He's a dog who likes to know exactly what's expected of him. Snoop also enjoys his toys (perhaps a little too much!) and will happily entertain himself, although soft toys don't tend to last long around him, so sturdy enrichment toys are recommended! Snoop struggles with separation anxiety in the home, although he has settled very well into kennel life with very few issues. We believe this is because he thrives on routine and structure, so his new family should be prepared to continue building his confidence at home and not rush leaving him alone for long periods. Snoop isn't looking for perfection, he's looking for someone willing to understand him. In return, you'll gain an incredibly clever, funny, affectionate young Lurcher who has so much potential and so much love to give. With the right guidance, we truly believe Snoop will make an amazing companion.
