Belen – and somewhere, a human Belen is sitting at the animal shelter. Quiet, reserved, almost a little lost among all the loud voices. As usual at the animal shelter, we know nothing about their past. Where they come from, what they've experienced – all of that remains their secret. What we do see, however, is a very, very shy and fearful female dog. Belen won't be the one who arrives immediately. Not the one who happily leaps into a new life and immediately settles in. On the contrary – much of it will be unfamiliar to her. Life in a house, everyday noises, closeness… perhaps she hasn't even experienced all of that yet. And that's exactly why we're looking for special people for her. People with dog experience. People with patience. People who don't expect anything – except that Belen can arrive in her own time. People who understand that trust must grow and that small steps are great successes. Belen needs space, time, security, and above all, patience – and people who don't expect anything from her immediately. She won't be a dog who "works." But she will be a dog who – if given the chance – begins to trust very quietly and carefully. And that is the greatest gift. Anyone who wants to give Belen this path can contact her foster parent. Belen would also be very happy about a foster home.

Belen – und irgendwo wartet ihr Mensch Belen sitzt im Tierheim. Still, zurückhaltend, fast ein wenig verloren zwischen all den lauten Stimmen. Wie so oft im Tierschutz wissen wir nichts über ihre Vergangenheit. Wo sie herkommt, was sie erlebt hat – all das bleibt ihr Geheimnis. Was wir aber sehen, ist eine sehr, sehr schüchterne und ängstliche Hündin. Belen wird nicht die sein, die sofort ankommt. Nicht die, die fröhlich ins neue Leben springt und sich direkt fallen lässt. Im Gegenteil – vieles wird ihr fremd sein. Das Leben im Haus, Alltagsgeräusche, Nähe… vielleicht kennt sie all das noch gar nicht. Und genau deshalb suchen wir für sie besondere Menschen. Menschen mit Hundeerfahrung. Menschen mit Geduld. Menschen, die nichts erwarten – außer dass Belen in ihrem eigenen Tempo ankommen darf. Die verstehen, dass Vertrauen wachsen muss und dass kleine Schritte große Erfolge sind. Belen braucht Raum, Zeit, Sicherheit und vor allem Geduld – und Menschen, die nichts von ihr sofort erwarten. Sie wird kein Hund sein, der „funktioniert“. Aber sie wird ein Hund sein, der – wenn man ihr die Chance gibt – ganz leise und vorsichtig beginnt, zu vertrauen. Und genau darin liegt das größte Geschenk. Wer Belen diesen Weg schenken möchte, darf sich gerne bei ihrer Vermittlerin melden. Über eine Pflegestelle würde Belen sich ebenfalls sehr freuen.
