Topanga es una chica hermosa y tierna que llegó a nosotros de un criador para comenzar su viaje hacia el hogar amoroso que tanto merece. Cuando llegó por primera vez, estaba abrumada, nerviosa y sin saber qué hacer con el mundo que la rodeaba. Desde entonces, ha empezado realmente a salir de su cáscara y su confianza ha crecido mucho, así como su confianza en las personas. Una vez que conoce a alguien, ahora puede acercarse felizmente para pedir un poco de atención y cariño, e incluso le dará un pequeño beso en la mano mientras mueve la cola. Es algo muy dulce. Topanga depende de otros perros para sentirse cómoda y segura, y buscará un hogar donde haya un perro macho amable que sea más grande que ella y pueda ser su amigo y cuidarla. Se lleva bien con otros perros y comparte su jaula maravillosamente con perros machos, pero no puede ser adoptada con perros hembras. Nunca ha vivido en un hogar antes, por lo tanto, sus adoptadores deberán ser amables y comprensivos mientras se adapta y aprende todo sobre la vida en casa y nuevas habilidades como el entrenamiento para hacer sus necesidades afuera. Topanga is a beautiful and gentle girl who came to us from a breeder to begin her journey toward the loving forever home she so deserves. When she first arrived, she was overwhelmed, nervous, and unsure of the world around her. Since, then she has really started to come out of her shell and her confidence has grown so much, as well as her trust in humans. Once she knows you, she will now happily approach you to ask for some fuss and attention and will even give you a little kiss on the hand while wagging her tail. It is the sweetest thing. Topanga does rely on other dogs for comfort and confidence and will be looking for a home where there is a kind male resident dog who is larger than her and can be her friend and take her under their wing. She gets on well with other dogs and shares her kennel wonderfully with male dogs, but cannot be homed with female dogs. She has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She could share her home with dog-savvy teenagers who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in. Since arriving with us, she has learned to walk on a lead and absolutely loves to go for walks or to go down to the play yard. She walks beautifully on a lead and now gets really excited when she sees her lead and would love to find an active home. She has come such a long way in a short time, and we know there’s an even brighter future waiting for her. What she needs now is the chance to experience the comfort of a forever home, where she can continue to flourish and finally learn what “home life” truly means. Topanga arrived with a very inflamed ear, which has now been treated, and she also has some scars on her face - quiet reminders of a past that we can’t undo, but one that she’ll leave behind with the love and care she’s now receiving.
