Trevor es un Shih Tzu de 6 años que llegó a SEDR como un perro abandonado. Ha estado con nosotros desde agosto de 2025 y hemos pasado mucho tiempo ayudándolo a superar sus problemas en las jaulas, antes de que se mudara a acogida en febrero de este año. Ha florecido completamente en un entorno doméstico con quienes comprenden sus pequeños caprichos. Ha sido castrado, vacunado y microchipeado. Trevor busca un hogar tranquilo, experimentado con dueños seguros que comprendan cómo darle espacio y construir confianza a su ritmo. No puede vivir con niños. Tampoco puede vivir con gatos. Hará bien en un hogar tranquilo y estructurado sin muchas visitas. Cuando llegó por primera vez, estaba muy asustado de las personas, y aunque ha avanzado mucho, aún puede ser un poco cauteloso al conocer nuevas caras. 💛 Personalidad de TrevorUna vez que Trevor lo conoce, realmente brilla. Se convierte en un compañero extremadamente cariñoso y tierno que ama nada más que acurrucarse a su lado en las noches. Forma fuertes vínculos y es maravillosamente leal a sus personas. 🐕 Vida SocialTrevor adora a otros perros y prosperaría en un hogar con una compañera canina juguetona. Actualmente está en acogida con otros perros y disfruta tener un amigo con quien jugar y aprender. ⚠️ Cosas que Saber • Trevor puede ser desconfiado con personas nuevas y puede morder si se le acerca demasiado rápido • Necesita dueños pacientes comprometidos en continuar su viaje de construcción de confianza • Puede ser un poco inseguro con el manejo formal y puede emitir un pequeño gruñido, pero es respondiente y finalmente cooperativo • Mejor adaptado a un entorno doméstico estructurado y comprensivo 🌟 Lo Bueno • Muy amoroso y cariñoso una vez que se siente unido • Buena recuperación sin correa • Juguetón y social con otros perros • Un verdadero buen chico que quiere complacer Trevor necesita un hogar que respete inicialmente su espacio, y que sea su defensor asegurando que las personas bienintencionadas en caminatas o visitas no traten de tocarlo antes de que esté listo. Una vez que se sienta unido, se une firmemente sin excepción...pero esto toma tiempo. Necesita personas que comprendan que ha tenido trauma en situaciones previas a llegar a rescate, y necesita paciencia. Una vez que gane su amor, tendrá un mejor amigo para toda la vida. Trevor inicialmente no podía tolerar ser cepillado/afeitado, pero sus padres de acogida han trabajado increíblemente duro en esto y ahora permite que quienes confían en él lo cepillen y recorten. Trevor is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu who came into SEDR as an unclaimed stray. He has been with us since August 2025 and we have spent a long time helping him unpack his troubles in kennels, before he moved into foster in February this year. He has absolutely blossomed in a home environment with those who understand his little quirks. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Trevor is looking for a calm, experienced home with confident owners who understand how to give him space and build trust at his pace. He cannot live with children. He is also unable to live with cats. He will do well in a quiet, structured home without lots of visitors When he first arrived, he was very frightened of people, and while he has come a long way, he can still be a little cautious when meeting new faces. 💛 Trevor’s PersonalityOnce Trevor knows you, he truly shines. He becomes an incredibly affectionate, cuddly little companion who loves nothing more than snuggling up beside you in the evenings. He forms strong bonds and is wonderfully loyal to his people.🐕 Social LifeTrevor absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. He’s currently in foster with other dogs and loves having a friend to play with and learn from.⚠️ Things to Know • Trevor can be wary of new people and may nip if approached too quickly • He needs patient owners committed to continuing his trust-building journey • He can be a bit unsure about formal handling and may give a small grumble, but he is responsive and ultimately cooperative • Best suited to a structured, understanding home environment🌟 The Good Stuff • Very loving and cuddly once bonded • Great recall off-lead • Playful and social with other dogs • A genuinely good boy who wants to please Trevor needs a home who initially respect his space, and will be his advocate in keeping him safe around strangers, ensuring well meaning people out on walks or visitors do not try to stroke him before he is ready. Once he bonds, he bonds firmly without exception....but this takes time. He needs people who understand he has been traumatised in situations before coming into rescue, and he needs patience. Once you gain his love, you will have a best friend for life. Trevor was initially unable to cope with being groomed / shaved but his foster parents have worked incredibly hard on this and he now allows those he trusts to groom and clip him. Trevor does not like the vets! But his foster parents have worked hard with muzzle training which will be needed at vet appointments. Trevor is a dog who needs understanding and compassion...and in return he will become your absolute best friend and lap warmer!
