Trevor est un Shih Tzu de 6 ans qui est entré à SEDR en tant que chien errant non réclamé. Il est avec nous depuis août 2025 et nous avons passé beaucoup de temps à l'aider à surmonter ses difficultés dans les cages, avant qu'il ne soit placé en famille d'accueil en février de cette année. Il a absolument prospéré dans un environnement familial avec des personnes qui comprennent ses petites particularités. Il a été castré, vacciné et pucé. Trevor cherche une maison calme, expérimentée avec des propriétaires confiants qui comprennent comment lui laisser de l'espace et construire la confiance à son rythme. Il ne peut pas vivre avec des enfants. Il ne peut pas non plus vivre avec des chats. Il s'adaptera bien à une maison calme et structurée sans trop de visiteurs. Lorsqu'il est arrivé, il était très effrayé par les gens, et bien qu'il ait fait d'énormes progrès, il peut encore être un peu prudent lorsqu'il rencontre de nouvelles personnes. 💛 La Personnalité de TrevorUne fois que Trevor vous connaît, il brille véritablement. Il devient un compagnon incroyablement affectueux, câlin, qui adore rien de plus que se blottir à côté de vous le soir. Il forme des liens forts et est merveilleusement fidèle à ses maîtres. 🐕 La Vie SocialeTrevor adore les autres chiens et s'épanouira dans une maison avec un compagnon canin joueux. Il est actuellement en famille d'accueil avec d'autres chiens et adore avoir un ami avec qui jouer et apprendre. ⚠️ À Savoir • Trevor peut être méfiant envers les nouvelles personnes et peut mordiller si on s'approche trop rapidement • Il a besoin d'propriétaires patients engagés dans la poursuite de son cheminement de confiance • Il peut être un peu hésitant face au maniement formel et peut émettre un petit grognement, mais il est réceptif et finit par coopérer • Idéal pour un environnement familial structuré et compréhensif 🌟 Les Bonnes Choses • Très affectueux et câlin une fois lié • Très bon rappel hors laisse • Joueux et social avec d'autres chiens • Un vrai bon garçon qui veut plaire Trevor a besoin d'une maison qui respecte initialement son espace, et qui sera son défenseur pour le garder en sécurité autour des inconnus, en veillant à ce que les personnes bien intentionnées en promenade ou les visiteurs ne tentent pas de le toucher avant qu'il ne soit prêt. Une fois lié, il l'est fermement sans exception... mais cela prend du temps. Il a besoin de personnes qui comprennent qu'il a subi un trauma avant d'être sauvé, et il a besoin de patience. Une fois que vous gagnez son amour, vous aurez un meilleur ami pour la vie. Trevor n'était initialement pas capable de supporter le toilettage / le rasage, mais ses parents d'accueil ont travaillé extrêmement dur sur cela et il permet maintenant à ceux qu'il fait confiance de le toiletter et de le couper. Trevor is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu who came into SEDR as an unclaimed stray. He has been with us since August 2025 and we have spent a long time helping him unpack his troubles in kennels, before he moved into foster in February this year. He has absolutely blossomed in a home environment with those who understand his little quirks. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Trevor is looking for a calm, experienced home with confident owners who understand how to give him space and build trust at his pace. He cannot live with children. He is also unable to live with cats. He will do well in a quiet, structured home without lots of visitors When he first arrived, he was very frightened of people, and while he has come a long way, he can still be a little cautious when meeting new faces. 💛 Trevor’s PersonalityOnce Trevor knows you, he truly shines. He becomes an incredibly affectionate, cuddly little companion who loves nothing more than snuggling up beside you in the evenings. He forms strong bonds and is wonderfully loyal to his people.🐕 Social LifeTrevor absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. He’s currently in foster with other dogs and loves having a friend to play with and learn from.⚠️ Things to Know • Trevor can be wary of new people and may nip if approached too quickly • He needs patient owners committed to continuing his trust-building journey • He can be a bit unsure about formal handling and may give a small grumble, but he is responsive and ultimately cooperative • Best suited to a structured, understanding home environment🌟 The Good Stuff • Very loving and cuddly once bonded • Great recall off-lead • Playful and social with other dogs • A genuinely good boy who wants to please Trevor needs a home who initially respect his space, and will be his advocate in keeping him safe around strangers, ensuring well meaning people out on walks or visitors do not try to stroke him before he is ready. Once he bonds, he bonds firmly without exception....but this takes time. He needs people who understand he has been traumatised in situations before coming into rescue, and he needs patience. Once you gain his love, you will have a best friend for life. Trevor was initially unable to cope with being groomed / shaved but his foster parents have worked incredibly hard on this and he now allows those he trusts to groom and clip him. Trevor does not like the vets! But his foster parents have worked hard with muzzle training which will be needed at vet appointments. Trevor is a dog who needs understanding and compassion...and in return he will become your absolute best friend and lap warmer!
