Mavis on pieni dachshund-risti, joka on noin viiden vuoden ikäinen. Hyvä kissojen kanssa. Tarvitsee varmoja kotikoiria. Vain aikuiset kotitalot. Jotenkin tämä pieni tyttö selvisi kahden vuoden tai pidemmän ajan Botosanin julkisessa hyllyssä Romaniassa. Hän selvisi liittymällä suurempaan koiraan ja pysymällä heidän suojansa sisällä. Hän tuo tämän tapituksensa Yhdistyneeseen kuningaskuntaan ja hänellä on kotipalvelussa oleva koira, jonka hän seuraa jatkuvasti. Oikeastaan hän on niin pieni ja hän on niin huomaamaton, ettemme edes ajattele, että hän huomaa hänen vakioisen pienen kiinnittyneensä, koska hän täysin unohtaa hänet..... tulisi mielellään löytää koti koiraan kanssa, mikä on hieman vastaanottavaisempi hänen uskollisuudestaan! Mavis on ymmärrettävästi pelokas ihmisiä kohtaan, kunnes hän tietää heitä erittäin hyvin. Hänen tarvitsee parittaa varmoon koiran kanssa, jonka hän voi seurata ja oppia koirien/humana-asioiden suhteista. Hän ei halua, että sinä kosketat häntä, kun sinä tulet tapaamaan häntä, ja sinun saattaa kestää muutaman viikon ansaita tuon etuoikeuden, kunnes hän on vakuuttunut siitä, ettei sinä haittaa häntä. Hän tarvitsee aikuisen kotiympäristön, jossa adoptioihminen rakastaa häntä ja ymmärtää hänen pelkojaan... ilman aikarajoja siihen, kuinka kauan kestää, että hänystä tulee ystävät. Adoption-maksut ovat: Koirat, joilla on tehty kaikki steriloinnit ja kaikki aikuiset koirat: 430 £. Iän yli 10-vuotiaat koirat: 150–250 £ (riippuen iästä ja yksilöllisistä tarpeista). Adoption-tiedot ja ehdot Kun otat Safe Rescue -koiran adoptioon, sinun on pakko käyttää lähettijohdinta. Epävarmat koirat voivat aina tarvita lähettijohdinta turvallisuustarkoituksiin. Lähettijohdin on turvaväline, jota EI KOSKAAN saa käyttää harjoitusvälineenä. Käyttämällä johtoa painaen koiran kaulaansa on vahinkoa. Jos koira vetää johtoa, voimme antaa sinulle neuvoja harjoitusmenetelmistä, jotka eivät ole vahingoittavia. Kun koira on hengittynyt, voit harkita kourun käyttöä (yhdessä lähettijohdinnan kanssa), jos koira on toimintakykyinen käsittelyyn sen ollessa asennettuna. Mavis is a dinky little dachshund cross aged around five years old. Fine with cats. Needs a confident resident dog. Adult only home. Somehow this small girl survived two years or more in the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She survived by latching onto a bigger dog and remaining in their protection. She has brought that habit to the UK with her and has a dog in her foster home that she shadows at all times. To be honest she’s so small and he’s so oblivious we don’t even think he notices his constant little cling on because he blatantly ignores her….. we’d love her to find a home with a dog if any size that’s a bit more receptive to her devotion! Mavis is understandably afraid of humans until she knows them super well. She needs to be paired up with a confident dog that she can watch and learn from regarding dog/human relationships. She’s not going to want you to touch her when you come and meet her and you may have to take a few weeks to earn that privilege whilst she is convinced that you’re not going to hurt her. She needs an adult home environment with an adopter who will love her and understand her fears… with no time limits on how long it takes to befriend her. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
