Mavis egy kis dachshund keresztezett, kb. öt éves. Jól jár kutyákkal. Szüksége van egy magabiztos házi kutya. Csak felnőtt lakás. Valahogy ez a kis lány két év vagy annál több ideig élte túl a romániai Botosani közösségi menhelyen. Úgy életben maradt, hogy egy nagyobb kutyához kapaszkodott és megmaradt az ő védelmükben. Ezt a szokását hozta magával Nagy-Britanniába, és most is van egy kutya a gondozó otthonában, akivel mindenhol követi. Az igazság az, hogy olyan kicsi, és ő olyan tudatlan, hogy nem is hisszük, hogy észrevenné a gyors csimpaszkodását, mert nyíltan figyelmen kívül hagyja…… szeretnénk, ha megtalálná a házat egy kutyával, bármekkora, aki kissé elfogadóbb a közeledésére! Mavis természetesen félelmet érez az emberektől, amíg nem ismeri őket nagyon jól. Szüksége van egy magabiztos kutyára, akivel tanulhat a kutyák/humán kapcsolatokról. Amikor találkozni jön, nem fogja szeretni, ha megérinted, és néhány hétre lehet, hogy el kell érned ezt a privilégiumot, míg bizonyosodva van arról, hogy nem akarsz neki ártani. Szüksége van egy felnőtt otthoni környezetre, ahol szeretik és megértenek, nincs időkorlát arra, mennyi időbe telik, mire megbarátkozik veled. Nem élhet egyedül a házban, jól jár kutyákkal. Mavis gondozója Norwich Norfolk. Ha érdekel, kérlek írj vagy hívj 9-5 között hétfőtől péntekig, vagy 9-4 között szombaton. A gyámsági díjak: Kutyák, amelyek már kivágva vannak, valamint minden felnőtt kutya: 430 font. Nem kivágott kutyák, spay/neuter szerződéseken: 530 font (100 font visszatérítést kapsz, amint küldöd nekünk a kivágás bizonyítékát). Idős kutyák (10 éves vagy idősebb): 150–250 font (függ az életkorától és az egyedi igényektől). Az Állatorvosi Feltételek és Előírások: Amikor egy Safe Rescue kutya örökbe fogadását választod, OBLIGÁTORIAN használj slip vezetéket. Ez biztosítja a kutya biztonságát: az új kutya ideges lesz, és nem fog hinni neked, és te sem tudod, milyen helyzetek zavarhatják meg a kutyádat. Ha a kutya pánikba esik, akkor a slip vezeték az egyetlen módja, hogy megakadályozd, hogy elmenjen (több kutyáknak sikerül elszöknie egy nyaköv vagy egy ruházati szerszámból). Minimálisan 3-6 hónapra van szükséged a kutya beilleszkedéséhez, és hogy teljesen megismerd a kutyádat (hosszabb ideig tart nyugtalankodó kutyáknál). A slip vezetéket mindig használd ezen a beilleszkedési időszak alatt. Nyugtalankodó kutyáknak mindig szükség lehet a slip vezetékre mint biztonsági másolatként. A slip vezeték egy biztonsági eszköz, és soha ne használd képzésre. A vezeték alkalmazása a kutya nyakán káros. Ha a kutya húzza a vezetéket, akkor javasolhatunk neked képzési módszereket, amelyek káros hatással nem járnak. Amikor a kutya beletanult, érdemes lehet egy mellényt (a slip vezetékkel együtt) használni, ha a kutya kényelmesen viseli a mellényt. A legtöbb mellény nem ellenáll a menekülésnek, de a mellények, amelyeknek a hátsó részén szíj van (pl. Ruffwear Webmaster vagy Perfect Fit mellények), biztonságosabbak. A kibújó / hosszabbítható vezetékek soha nem használhatók a mi kutyáinkon. A fogadott kutyákat a menhelyről kell összegyűjteni, és azonnal hazaszállítani egy biztonságos acél dobozban. Mavis is a dinky little dachshund cross aged around five years old. Fine with cats. Needs a confident resident dog. Adult only home. Somehow this small girl survived two years or more in the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She survived by latching onto a bigger dog and remaining in their protection. She has brought that habit to the UK with her and has a dog in her foster home that she shadows at all times. To be honest she’s so small and he’s so oblivious we don’t even think he notices his constant little cling on because he blatantly ignores her….. we’d love her to find a home with a dog if any size that’s a bit more receptive to her devotion! Mavis is understandably afraid of humans until she knows them super well. She needs to be paired up with a confident dog that she can watch and learn from regarding dog/human relationships. She’s not going to want you to touch her when you come and meet her and you may have to take a few weeks to earn that privilege whilst she is convinced that you’re not going to hurt her. She needs an adult home environment with an adopter who will love her and understand her fears… with no time limits on how long it takes to befriend her. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
