Tämä kaunis mies-border collie on ollut meidän kalviassa-riikin lemmikkilaitoksessa jo jonkin aikaa. Ushiro on viiden vuoden ikäinen ja hänet toimitettiin meille siksi, että entinen omistaja ei enää kyennyt hoidossa. Valitettavasti Ushirolla oli todella suuri ongelma uudessa tilanteessa ja hän näytti sitä selvästi. Siksi antimme hänelle hieman aikaa tottua uuteen tilanteeseen. Toisaalta asiat ovat muiden kanssa menneet hyvin. Mutta hänellä on myös yksi tai kaksi "pieniä ongelmia". Tämä on tunnistettava ja otettava huomioon. Esimerkiksi hän näyttää olevan ongelmaa pukeutumisessa ja purkauksessa; joskus myös kiskolla tai liittyvien kosketusten kanssa. Siksi haluamme lähestyä Ushiron asettamista hitaasti ja erittäin huolellisesti – koska häneltä vaaditaan varmasti oikeita ihmisiä. Ushiro on todella hieno poika, mutta hän ei ole koskaan saanut oikeita haasteita. Hän on älykäs ja tarvitsee vain vähän aikaa rakentaa luottamusta ja osallistua ihmisiin. Pieniä lapsia ei tulisi olla hänen uudessa perheessään, koska emme voi arvioida tätä tällä hetkellä riittävästi. Sen sijaan entisen omistajan mukaan hänellä oli aiemmin kontaktia lapsiin ja se oli todennäköisesti hyvä ja ilman ongelmia. Kissoja ei tule olemaan hänen uudessa perheessään. Hänellä ei ole oikeastaan ongelmaa muodossa koirilla – samalla tavalla kuin ihmisillä – kyse on kemiallisesta yhteensovittamisesta. Mutta hän on tällä hetkellä iloinen useiden kanssa. Me etsimme ihmisiä, jotka ovat jo kokeneita koirien kanssa, jotka ovat tutustuneet bordercollie-rotuun ja jotka ovat riittävän aikaa antamaan Ushirolle sen mitä hän todella tarvitsee. Se sisältää riittävän paljon aktiivisuutta luonnossa ja varmasti myös mielenterveys työtä. Luonnon elintarvikkeita ja todella hyviä liikuntamahdollisuuksia olisi erittäin toivottavaa. Oikeissa käsiissä ja luottamuksella Ushiro tulee varmasti olemaan erinomainen kaveri uudelle omistajalleen. Hän vain tarvitsee todellisen ja oikean mahdollisuuden.

This beautiful male border collie has been at our shelter in Calvià for some time now. Ushiro is five years old and was handed in to us because his former owner was simply no longer able to cope with him. Unfortunately, Ushiro had a really big problem with the new situation and he clearly showed that. So we gave him a bit of time to get used to the new situation. In the meantime, things are going really well with the people he knows. But he also has one or two “little issues”. That has to be clearly recognised and taken into account. For example, he seems to have a problem with putting on and taking off a harness; sometimes also with the lead or the associated touching. That’s why we want to approach the placement of Ushiro slowly and really carefully – because he absolutely has to go to the right people. Ushiro is a really great guy, but he has never really been challenged in the right way. He is clever and just needs a bit of time to build up trust and get involved with people. Small children should not be in his new family at the moment, as we cannot judge this well enough at the moment. According to his former owner, however, he did have contact with children in the past, and that was probably fine and without any problems. Cats should clearly not be in his new family. He doesn’t really have a problem with other dogs – just like with people – it’s all about chemistry. But he is happy with most of them at the moment. We are looking for people who are already experienced with dogs, who are familiar with the Bordercollie breed and who have enough time to give Ushiro what he really needs. That includes sufficient activity together in nature and definitely also brain work. A natural living environment with really good exercise opportunities would be very desirable. In the right hands and with trust, Ushiro will definitely become a great companion for his new owners. He just needs a real and proper chance.
