Ce magnifique mâle border collie est à notre refuge de Calvià depuis un certain temps. Ushiro a cinq ans et a été déposé chez nous car son ancien propriétaire n'était tout simplement plus en mesure de s'en occuper. Malheureusement, Ushiro avait un très gros problème avec la nouvelle situation et il l'a clairement montré. Nous lui avons donc donné un peu de temps pour s'habituer à la nouvelle situation. Pendant ce temps, les choses se passent vraiment bien avec les personnes qu'il connaît. Mais il a aussi quelques « petits problèmes ». Cela doit être clairement reconnu et pris en compte. Par exemple, il semble avoir un problème pour mettre et retirer une harnais ; parfois également avec la laisse ou le contact associé. C'est pourquoi nous voulons procéder lentement et avec beaucoup de soin pour placer Ushiro – car il doit absolument aller chez les bonnes personnes. Ushiro est un très bon garçon, mais il n'a jamais vraiment été mis au défi de la bonne manière. Il est intelligent et n'a besoin que d'un peu de temps pour construire confiance et s'impliquer avec les gens. Les petits enfants ne devraient pas faire partie de sa nouvelle famille pour l'instant, car nous ne pouvons pas bien juger cela pour l'instant. Cependant, selon son ancien propriétaire, il a eu des contacts avec des enfants dans le passé, et cela était probablement correct et sans problèmes. Les chats ne devraient clairement pas faire partie de sa nouvelle famille. Il n'a pas vraiment de problème avec les autres chiens – tout comme avec les humains – c'est une question de chimie. Mais il est heureux avec la plupart d'entre eux pour l'instant. Nous recherchons des personnes qui ont déjà de l'expérience avec les chiens, qui connaissent bien la race du border collie et qui ont suffisamment de temps à offrir à Ushiro pour ce dont il a réellement besoin. Cela inclut une activité suffisante ensemble en pleine nature et certainement aussi un travail intellectuel. Un environnement naturel avec de bonnes opportunités d'exercice serait très souhaitable. Dans les bonnes mains et avec la confiance, Ushiro deviendra certainement un excellent compagnon pour ses nouveaux propriétaires. Il a juste besoin d'une vraie et bonne chance.

This beautiful male border collie has been at our shelter in Calvià for some time now. Ushiro is five years old and was handed in to us because his former owner was simply no longer able to cope with him. Unfortunately, Ushiro had a really big problem with the new situation and he clearly showed that. So we gave him a bit of time to get used to the new situation. In the meantime, things are going really well with the people he knows. But he also has one or two “little issues”. That has to be clearly recognised and taken into account. For example, he seems to have a problem with putting on and taking off a harness; sometimes also with the lead or the associated touching. That’s why we want to approach the placement of Ushiro slowly and really carefully – because he absolutely has to go to the right people. Ushiro is a really great guy, but he has never really been challenged in the right way. He is clever and just needs a bit of time to build up trust and get involved with people. Small children should not be in his new family at the moment, as we cannot judge this well enough at the moment. According to his former owner, however, he did have contact with children in the past, and that was probably fine and without any problems. Cats should clearly not be in his new family. He doesn’t really have a problem with other dogs – just like with people – it’s all about chemistry. But he is happy with most of them at the moment. We are looking for people who are already experienced with dogs, who are familiar with the Bordercollie breed and who have enough time to give Ushiro what he really needs. That includes sufficient activity together in nature and definitely also brain work. A natural living environment with really good exercise opportunities would be very desirable. In the right hands and with trust, Ushiro will definitely become a great companion for his new owners. He just needs a real and proper chance.
