PomPom a été laissé attaché à un poteau de rue menant au refuge, au milieu de la nuit dans le noir, sur la route de la voiture. Il a été trouvé par un bénévole qui est venu travailler très tôt le matin, encore dans le noir, et aurait presque heurté PomPom, car il était soudainement debout sur la petite route. Il portait toujours sa harnais, mais n'avait pas d'eau et ne pouvait pas partir, il était bien attaché. PomPom avait une puce microchip originaire de Belgique, et même si la puce n'est pas enregistrée ici en Andalousie, normalement nous ne pourrions pas voir le propriétaire, nous avons fouillé plus profondément, contacté la Belgique, et obtenu les coordonnées du propriétaire, en espérant qu'il était simplement perdu, et peut-être que sa famille est à Marbella pour les vacances. Son nom enregistré était BoumBoum. Malheureusement, le propriétaire nous a répondu par « Merci pour l'information, mais vous pouvez le garder ». Donc PomPom a été abandonné, rejeté par sa maison, sa vie qu'il connaissait. Selon les informations que nous avons, il a vécu avec un homme et une femme avant. PomPom est un garçon dodu, un peu enrobé, et donc actuellement un peu fort sur la laisse, mais il sait très bien comment marcher poliment sur la laisse. Ayant été récemment arraché à tout ce qu'il connaissait, il est actuellement un peu sceptique face aux nouvelles personnes, et ne se sent pas à l'aise avec les personnes qui ne savent pas lire le langage corporel d'un chien, ou qui ne respectent pas l'espace personnel et commencent directement à toucher le chien partout. PomPom aime les personnes qui lui donnent un moment pour vous observer, pour se détendre en votre présence, puis lui offrir un bon grattement sur les fesses. Ajoutez un peu de poulet à l'histoire, et l'amitié est scellée. Il faut un moment à PomPom pour former un lien avec un humain pour l'instant, il regarde encore dans la direction de la rue où il était attaché, et où il a probablement vu la voiture de son maître le laisser. Cependant, nous savons que PomPom vient d'un environnement familial "normal", ce qui signifie qu'il s'adaptera probablement très rapidement à nouveau à la vie en famille. Pour l'instant, nous recherchons un foyer pour PomPom en tant que seul chien, cependant les demandes concernant une femelle calme sociale peuvent également être prises en compte et testées. Ne connaissant pas exactement son passé, nous ne le réadoptons pas pour l'instant chez les familles avec des jeunes enfants. Comme PomPom arrive avec sa valise de chagrin, il cherche des humains expérimentés avec les chiens, qui seront capables de comprendre sa communication et son expression des émotions, des limites, des besoins. Pour l'adoption en Espagne, une inscription PPP serait nécessaire, que le refuge peut aider à obtenir. PomPom est également disponible pour l'adoption internationale. Sa hauteur au garrot est de 63 cm.

PomPom was left tied to a street post leading up to the shelter, in the middle of the night in the dark, on the car road. He was found by a volunteer who arrived to work very early in the morning, still in the dark, and almost drove into PomPom, because he suddenly was standing at the narrow road. He was still wearing his harness, but had no water, and could not leave, he was tied properly. PomPom had a microchip originating from Belgium, and even though the chip is not registrated here in Andalucia, so normally we would not be able to see the owner, we dug deeper, reached out to Belgium, and got the owner's details, hoping that he simply was lost, and maybe his family is in Marbella for holidays. His registrated name was BoumBoum. Sadly, the owner responded to us with "Thanks for the info, but you can keep him". So PomPom has been abandoned, rejected by his home, his life that he knows. From the info we have, he has been living with a man and a woman before. PomPom is a chunky boy, slightly overweight, and therefore at the moment a bit strong on the leash, though he knows very well how to walk on the leash politely. Having just recently been ripped away from all he knew before, he is at the moment a bit skeptical when it comes to new people, and doesn't feel comfortable with people who cannot read a dog's body language, or people who do not respect private space, and directly start to touch a dog all over. PomPom likes people who give him a moment to check you out, to relax in your presence, and then offer him a good butt scratch. Add some chicken to the story, and the friendship is sealed. It takes him a moment to form a bond with a human at the moment, he is still looking towards the direction of the street where he was tied up, and where he most likely saw the car of his human leaving him last. However, we know that PomPom is coming from a "normal" home environment, meaning that he would most likely very quickly settle back into home life again. At the moment we are looking for a home as a single dog for PomPom, however inquiries with a calm social female can also be considered and tested. Not knowing his background exactly, we will for the time being not rehome him to families with small children. As PomPom does come with his luggage of heartbrake, he is looking for dog-experienced humans, who will be able to understand his communication and his expression of feelings, boundaries, needs. For adoption in Spain, a PPP registration would be needed, which the shelter can help with. PomPom is also available for international adoption. His shoulder height is 63cm.
