Rooktail est arrivée dans notre protection suite à un éleveur en quête d'un nouveau départ. Lorsqu'elle est venue, elle était très nerveuse et incertaine dans son nouvel environnement, préférant souvent le confort et la sécurité de ses amis du chenil et s'éloignant des gens. Depuis, Rooktail a déjà commencé à faire d'adorables progrès. Avec des interactions douces et patientes, beaucoup d'encouragements (et de délicieux snacks !), elle commence à construire sa confiance et sa confiance. Elle a commencé à prendre de la nourriture dans la main et apprend que les gens peuvent être gentils et rassurants. Elle peut encore être timide et parfois choisir de reculer si elle se sent incertaine, mais elle gagne progressivement confiance à son propre rythme. Rooktail continue à trouver un grand réconfort auprès d'autres chiens et aura besoin d'être adoptée par un chien résident calme et confiant qui pourra l'aider à guider et à fournir du réconfort pendant qu'elle s'habitue à la vie en famille. Être en présence d'autres chiens l'aide vraiment à se sentir en sécurité, et elle a même commencé à se détendre suffisamment pour profiter de jeux doux et d'expériences nouvelles avec eux. Comme Rooktail n'a jamais vécu en famille avant, elle aura besoin d'adoptants patients qui pourront lui apprendre tout sur l'entraînement aux toilettes, la promenade en laisse, et les routines quotidiennes de la vie en famille. Elle s'habitue également à une manipulation douce, et bien qu'elle puisse encore rester figée par moments, elle permet de plus en plus d'interactions à mesure que sa confiance augmente. Un environnement calme et stable l'aidera à continuer ces progrès et à se sentir en sécurité. Nous recherchons un foyer exclusivement composé d'adultes pour Rooktail afin qu'elle puisse s'adapter sans les pressions d'un foyer animé. Elle aura besoin d'adoptants compréhensifs qui seront heureux de prendre les choses à son rythme et de lui offrir le temps et l'espace dont elle a besoin pour vraiment sortir de sa coquille. Rooktail souffre d'une luxation de la rotule, ce qui ne lui cause actuellement aucun inconfort et pourrait s'améliorer avec un exercice doux, mais ses adoptants devront surveiller cela en continu. C'est une condition préexistante et ne sera pas couverte par l'assurance. Elle a également eu trois dents retirées lors de son stérilisation et a été traitée pour une infection de l'oreille. Rooktail est une jeune fille douce et tendre, pleine de potentiel. Elle montre déjà qu'avec patience, bonté et rassurance, elle peut commencer à faire confiance et à apprécier le monde qui l'entoure. Dans le bon foyer, elle continuera à fleurir en un compagnon fidèle et affectueux. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Rooktail has come into our care from a breeder in search of a fresh start. When she first arrived, she was very nervous and unsure in new surroundings, often preferring the comfort and safety of her kennel friends and keeping her distance from people. Since then, Rooktail has already begun to make some lovely progress. With gentle, patient interaction and plenty of encouragement (and tasty treats!), she is starting to build her confidence and trust. She has begun taking food from the hand and is learning that people can be kind and reassuring. She can still be shy and will sometimes choose to retreat if she feels unsure, but she is slowly gaining confidence at her own pace. Rooktail continues to take great comfort from other dogs and will need to be homed with a calm, confident resident dog who can help guide her and provide reassurance as she settles into home life. Being around other dogs really helps her feel safe, and she has even started to relax enough to enjoy gentle play and new experiences alongside them. As Rooktail has never lived in a home before, she will need patient adopters who can teach her all about house training, lead walking, and the everyday routines of home life. She is also getting used to gentle handling and, while she may still freeze at times, she is allowing more interaction as her confidence grows. A quiet, stable environment will help her continue this progress and feel secure. We are looking for an adult-only home for Rooktail so that she can adjust without the pressures of a busy household. She will need understanding adopters who are happy to take things at her pace and give her the time and space she needs to truly come out of her shell. Rooktail has a luxating patella, which isn’t causing her any discomfort at present and may improve with gentle exercise, but her adopters will need to monitor this ongoing. This is a pre-existing condition and won’t be covered by insurance. She has also had three teeth removed at the time of her spay and has been treated for a ear infection. Rooktail is a gentle, sweet girl with so much potential. She is already showing that, with patience, kindness, and reassurance, she can begin to trust and enjoy the world around her. In the right home, she will continue to blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
