In mid-February 2026, these two female puppies were found in Campagna. At the time, they were just slightly over two months old. They were brought to Canile Arzachena, where it was immediately determined that one of Dasha's front legs was not in good condition. We arranged for her to be thoroughly examined, and a congenital elbow dislocation was diagnosed. It was necessary to operate on her quickly. Since Dasha was not yet ready for travel, we decided to have her operated on in Sardinia. After the operation, Dasha was placed in a private foster home, as Canile Arzachena could not provide the necessary post-operative care. Darby stayed at Canile Arzachena, where she developed well. When Carolina, Carlotta, Camilla, and Corinna moved from private care with Loredana to Canile Arzachena, Darby was introduced to them. Unfortunately, Dasha soon began to show problems. The operation did not yield the desired results, and we will likely need to operate on her again. We hope that the second operation will be more successful. However, it is not certain that Dasha's leg will function fully, as some movement limitation will likely remain. Both Darby and Dasha are very loving and friendly. Dasha is already familiar with many aspects of "normal" life through her loving private foster home. Dasha is a smart female dog who wants to be challenged both mentally and physically and will surely be a great companion for many shared adventures with the right people by her side. When she was a puppy, a congenital development disorder of the left elbow joint was diagnosed. The joint surfaces were not properly formed, and the bones of the ulna and radius developed unevenly, which would have led to significant movement limitations and pain in the long term. A first operation was performed in Sardinia. Following this, Dasha was comprehensively examined at the Small Animal Clinic of the LMU Munich by orthopedic and surgical specialists and confirmed to have a complex dislocation of the elbow and a growth disorder of the ulna. The good news: Dasha was successfully operated on. The goal of the intervention was to correct the dislocation and allow her front limbs to develop as normally as possible. The treating specialists' prognosis is favorable. Dasha is already using her leg well and shows few limitations in everyday life. Of course, she is still in the rehabilitation phase. Therefore, she is currently only allowed to be led on a leash and must still take it easy. With ongoing healing, her load will be gradually increased. Anyone who meets Dasha quickly realizes that she is not a dog who wants sympathy. She wants to live, learn, play, and explore the world. People are needed who are happy to foster and engage with a young, intelligent, and active dog. Given her history, their people should be prepared to monitor her further development and adhere to the recommended follow-up checks. However, at the moment, everything speaks to the fact that Dasha can lead a normal and happy dog life after her rehabilitation. Mitte Februar 2026 waren diese beiden Hundemädchen in der Campagna gefunden worden. Sie waren damals knapp zwei Monate alt. Man brachte sie ins Canile Arzachena.Dort wurde dann gleich festgestellt, dass ein Vorderbeinchen der kleinen Dasha nicht in Ordnung war. Wir veranlassten, dass sie sofort eingehend untersucht wurde, und es wurde eine - vermutlich angeborene - Ellenbogen-Luxation diagnostiziert. Es war angesagt, dass dies schnellstens operiert werden müsste. Da Dasha ja noch längst nicht reisefertig war, mussten wir entscheiden, die Kleine auf Sardinien operieren zu lassen. Nach der Operation kam Dasha dann in eine private Pflegestelle, da im Canile die erforderliche Nachsorge nicht geleistet werden konnte.Darby blieb im Canile Arzachena, sie entwickelte sich gut. Als dann die Welpen Carolina, Carlotta, Camilla und Corinna aus der Privatbetreuung bei Loredana umzogen ins Canile, wurde Darby mit ihnen vergesellschaftet.Bei Dasha zeigten sich dann leider sehr schnell Probleme. Die Operation hatte nicht das gewünschte Ergebnis erbracht, und wir werden wohl oder übel Dasha noch einmal operieren lassen müssen. Wir hoffen sehr, dass die zweite Operation dann erfolgreicher sein wird. Wobei auch dann nicht sicher ist, dass Dashas Bein hundertprozentig funktionieren wird, sondern eine kleine Einschränkung der Beweglichkeit verbleiben wird.Darby und Dasha sind beide sehr lieb und freundlich. Juni 2026: Dasha ist eine ganz besondere junge Hündin, die trotz eines schwierigen Starts ins Leben voller Lebensfreude, Neugier und Tatendrang steckt. Sie lebt aktuell in ihrer Pflegestelle problemlos mit anderen Hunden, darunter auch Handicap-Hunde, sowie mit Katzen zusammen. Menschen gegenüber zeigt sie sich freundlich, aufgeschlossen und sehr lernfreudig. Dasha ist eine kluge Hündin, die geistig und körperlich gefordert werden möchte und mit den richtigen Menschen an ihrer Seite sicherlich eine tolle Begleiterin für viele gemeinsame Abenteuer wird.Als Welpe wurde bei Dasha eine angeborene Fehlentwicklung des linken Ellenbogengelenks festgestellt. Dabei waren die Gelenkflächen nicht korrekt ausgebildet und die Knochen von Elle und Speiche entwickelten sich nicht gleichmäßig, was langfristig zu erheblichen Bewegungseinschränkungen und Schmerzen geführt hätte. Bereits auf Sardinien wurde eine erste Operation durchgeführt. Anschließend wurde Dasha in der Kleintierklinik der LMU München von den Spezialisten für Orthopädie und Chirurgie umfassend untersucht und mittels CT abgeklärt. Dabei bestätigte sich die komplexe Fehlstellung des Ellenbogens sowie eine Wachstumsstörung der Elle.Die gute Nachricht: Dasha wurde erfolgreich operiert. Ziel des Eingriffs war es, die Fehlstellung zu korrigieren und ihr eine möglichst normale Entwicklung der Vordergliedmaße zu ermöglichen. Die Prognose der behandelnden Spezialisten ist erfreulich. Bereits jetzt nutzt Dasha ihr Bein gut und zeigt im Alltag kaum Einschränkungen. Natürlich befindet sie sich noch in der Rehabilitationsphase. Deshalb darf sie aktuell ausschließlich an der Leine geführt werden und muss sich noch etwas schonen. Mit fortschreitender Heilung wird ihre Belastung Schritt für Schritt gesteigert.Wer Dasha kennenlernt, merkt schnell, dass sie kein Hund ist, der Mitleid möchte. Sie möchte leben, lernen, spielen und die Welt entdecken. Gesucht werden Menschen, die Freude daran haben, einen jungen, intelligenten und aktiven Hund zu fördern und zu beschäftigen. Aufgrund ihrer Vorgeschichte sollten ihre Menschen bereit sein, die weitere Entwicklung im Auge zu behalten und die empfohlenen Nachkontrollen wahrzunehmen.
