Gabriel est venu originalement de l'éleveur, et pour lui le monde semblait être un endroit très effrayant. Il avait peur des gens, les nouveaux environnements et les expériences inconnues le laissaient submergé, et même quelque chose d'aussi simple que mettre une laisse était un défi énorme. Il avait besoin de temps, de patience et d'encouragement doux pour commencer à se sentir en sécurité. Gabriel a été adopté pendant une courte période, mais malheureusement ce n'était pas le bon placement pour lui, et il a été renvoyé après avoir montré des comportements indésirables à la maison et malheureusement ayant fait le mauvais choix lorsqu'il se sentait mal à l'aise dans une situation, ce qui a entraîné Gabriel à mordre. Il aura besoin d'un foyer calme réservé aux adultes sans enfants résidents ou visitants pour s'assurer qu'il puisse obtenir la structure dont il a besoin. Gabriel peut avoir du mal avec les visiteurs venant à la maison donc il aura besoin d'un foyer sans trop de visiteurs et la capacité de le placer dans une autre pièce quand les gens viennent. Il aura besoin d'adoptants prêts à le rencontrer plusieurs fois pour développer un lien avec lui ! Gabriel a besoin d'un foyer fortement structuré, axé sur les limites, avec des propriétaires expérimentés qui sont confiants, calmes et cohérents. Il n'est pas un chien qui doit être autorisé à être sur le canapé ou à se blottir avec des jouets et nous ne voulons pas qu'il soit mis en échec. Au lieu de cela, il a besoin de règles claires, d'espace personnel et de guidage qui l'aide à se sentir en sécurité et à comprendre ce qui est attendu de lui. Ses adoptants devront comprendre qu'il a le potentiel de garder des objets de grande valeur ou des espaces pour dormir et aura besoin de travailler avec lui. Respecter ses limites est essentiel pour son bien-être et son succès. Il aura besoin d'une stimulation physique et mentale chaque jour, quelle que soit la météo. Des promenades régulières, des jeux enrichissants et des jeux cérébraux sont indispensables pour maintenir son esprit actif et l'aider à rester équilibré et calme. Malgré son début difficile, Gabriel a fait des progrès remarquables. Aujourd'hui, il a hâte de ses promenades et devient visiblement excité lorsqu'il voit sa laisse sortir. Il permet maintenant qu'on lui mette sa harnais et marche magnifiquement, profitant pleinement de ses aventures en extérieur. Gabriel est un garçon très intelligent et un véritable gourmand, ce qui rend l'entraînement à la fois récompensateur et agréable. Il connaît déjà des commandes comme "assis" et "patte" et adore apprendre de nouvelles compétences. Il prospère avec une guidance claire, une cohérence et un entraînement continu, et fera mieux avec un propriétaire expérimenté qui aime travailler avec les chiens et construire une relation forte et structurée. Gabriel forme des liens très forts avec ses personnes et est profondément fidèle une fois la confiance établie. En raison de cela, il a montré des signes d'anxiété séparative et aura besoin d'adoptants qui soient présents pendant la plus grande partie de la journée. Il n'est pas adapté à être laissé seul pendant de longues périodes et prospérera davantage avec quelqu'un qui le rendra central dans leur routine quotidienne. Bien qu'il ne cherche pas la proximité physique constante, une fois un lien établi, il apprécie l'affection et les attentions douces à sa manière. Il pourrait vivre seul, profitant d'une attention individuelle, ou potentiellement avec un chien résident calme et confiant qui respecte son espace. Il aura besoin d'un foyer sans chats ni petits rongeurs. Gabriel a travaillé incroyablement dur pour surmonter ses peurs et a déjà fait tellement de chemin. Il cherche maintenant un foyer pour toujours qui lui offrira compréhension, structure, engagement et la chance de vivre une vie accomplie. Pour la bonne personne expérimentée, Gabriel sera un compagnon fidèle et récompensant. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Gabriel originally came to us from a breeder, and for him the world felt like a very frightening place. He was worried of people, and new environments and unfamiliar experiences left him feeling overwhelmed. Even something as simple as having a lead put on was a huge challenge. He needed time, patience and gentle encouragement to begin to feel safe. Gabriel was adopted for a short period, but unfortunately it was not the right fit for him. He was returned after displaying unwanted behaviours in the home and making the wrong choices when he felt uncomfortable in a situation, which did result in Gabriel biting. He will need a quiet, adult-only home without resident or visiting children. Gabriel can struggle with visitors coming to the house, so he will need a home without too many visitors and where he can be placed in a separate room when people do come over. His adopters will also need to be willing to meet him multiple times before adoption so that he has the opportunity to develop a bond and build trust with them. Gabriel requires a highly structured, boundary-focused home with experienced owners who are confident, calm and consistent. He is not a dog who should be allowed on the sofa or encouraged to cuddle up with toys, as we would not want him to be put in situations where he could struggle. Instead, he needs clear rules, his own space and guidance that helps him feel secure and understand what is expected of him. His adopters will need to understand that he has the potential to guard high-value items or sleeping spaces and will need to work with him appropriately. Respecting his boundaries is essential to his wellbeing and success. Gabriel is muzzle trained and wears his muzzle when out and about, as he has previously redirected when feeling overwhelmed. His adopters will need to be comfortable continuing his muzzle training and using it responsibly as part of his management plan. Although Gabriel can be nervous and reactive towards strangers, once he has formed a bond with someone, he absolutely loves his people. He forms incredibly strong attachments and becomes deeply loyal once he trusts you. This is one of the things that makes building a relationship with Gabriel so rewarding, but his adopters will need to understand that his affection cannot simply be expected straight away. He needs time to decide that you are someone he can trust. Gabriel will need both physical and mental stimulation every single day, whatever the weather. Regular walks, enrichment and brain games are a must to keep his active mind engaged and help him remain balanced and settled. Despite his difficult start, Gabriel has made remarkable progress. These days, he can't wait for his walks and becomes visibly excited when he sees his lead come out. He now happily allows his harness to be put on and walks beautifully, thoroughly enjoying his outdoor adventures. Gabriel is a very clever boy and a true foodie, which makes training both rewarding and enjoyable. He already knows cues such as sit and paw and loves learning new skills. He thrives with clear guidance, consistency and ongoing training, and will do best with an experienced owner who enjoys working with dogs and building a strong, structured relationship. Gabriel has shown signs of separation anxiety and will need adopters who are home for the majority of the time. He is not suited to being left alone for long periods and will thrive best with someone who can make him a central part of their daily routine. While he is not a dog who seeks constant physical closeness, once a bond is formed he does enjoy affection and gentle fuss in his own way. He could live as the only dog, enjoying one-to-one attention, or potentially alongside a calm, confident resident dog who respects his space. He will need a home with no cats or small furries. Gabriel has worked incredibly hard to overcome his fears and has already come so far. He is now searching for a forever home that will offer him understanding, structure, commitment and the chance to live a fulfilled life. For the right, experienced person, Gabriel will be a loyal and incredibly rewarding companion. Gabriel will need more than one meet and greet with his prospective adopters to allow him time to build a bond and feel comfortable with them before being adopted.
