Mad Man Murphy s'est certainement fait remarquer lorsqu'il est arrivé aux cages. Tout le monde qui connaît les Staffies comprendra à quel point elles peuvent être bruyantes... Murphy est un magnifique Staffordshire Bull Terrier au joli pelage sombre. Il sait exactement comment utiliser ces yeux de chiot et nous a tous entourés de son coussin. Murphy est venu chez nous après avoir passé quelques mois dans une maison avec un autre chien plus âgé. Malheureusement, ce chien plus âgé n'a pas aimé Murphy et se mettait souvent en colère. Il a été placé en famille d'accueil pendant quelques jours par une autre association de secours, mais ils ont eu du mal à gérer les choses après des présentations trop rapides et des progrès trop rapides. Après quelques jours dans les cages, il est clair que Murphy a besoin d'une certaine orientation. Nous travaillons sur le renforcement de son engagement et l'introduction d'une formation très nécessaire. Il prend tout cela tranquillement, mais étant un chiot, il est bien plus intéressé par le jeu et la course dans notre champ. Il est tout à fait typique d'un Staffie - il adore jouer avec son jouet de traction, ce qui est un excellent moyen de créer un lien avec ses soignants. Il s'entend bien avec les autres chiens et pourrait partager sa future maison avec un autre chien amical. Il est également sociable avec les chiens lors des promenades. Nous travaillons actuellement sur sa marche en laisse, son entraînement à la cage et son contrôle des impulsions. Son propriétaire idéal serait prêt à continuer l'entraînement que nous avons commencé pour qu'il devienne un chien bien équilibré. Une expérience précédente avec cette race serait un atout, mais pas essentielle. Nous recommandons que les enfants de la maison aient plus de 12 ans, car Murphy peut être un peu intense, surtout lorsqu'il est excité. Il arrive comme un boulet de démolition et peut être un petit ouragan de poils. Murphy est en excellente santé, il est à jour sur les vaccinations, mais il aura besoin d'être stérilisé lorsqu'il sera suffisamment âgé. Murphy est extrêmement affectueux et tendre, et tout le personnel l'adore. C'est un personnage doux et drôle qui fera certainement une excellente addition pour la bonne maison.

Mad Man Murphy certainly made himself known when he arrived at the kennels. Anyone who knows Staffies will understand just how vocal they can be… Murphy is a stunning Staffordshire Bull Terrier with a lovely dark coat. He knows exactly how to use those puppy-dog eyes and has us all wrapped around his paw. Murphy came to us after spending a few months in a home with an older dog. Unfortunately, the older dog took a dislike to him and would frequently start fights. He was placed in foster care for a few days through another rescue, but they struggled to cope after introductions were rushed and things moved too quickly. After a few days in kennels, it’s clear that Murphy needs some guidance. We are working on building his engagement and introducing some much-needed training. He’s taking it all in his stride but, being a puppy, he’s far more interested in playing and racing around our field. He is every bit the typical Staffie—he loves playing with his tug toy, which is a great way to build engagement with his carers. He gets on well with other dogs and could share his future home with another friendly dog. He is also sociable with dogs when out and about. We are currently working on his lead walking, crate training and impulse control. His ideal owner would be willing to continue the training we’ve started to ensure he grows into a well-rounded adult dog. Previous experience with the breed would be a bonus, but isn’t essential. We would recommend that any children in the home are over 12, as Murphy can be a bit full-on, especially when excited. He comes in like a wrecking ball and can be quite the little fur tornado. Murphy is in great health, he is up to date on vaccinations but he will need neutering when he is old enough. Murphy is incredibly loving and affectionate, and all of our staff adore him. He’s a sweet, funny character and is sure to make a fantastic addition to the right home.
