05-06-26 Nora est venue de l'éleveur et cherche maintenant un foyer très spécial pour toujours. C'est une jeune fille effrayée qui ressent naturellement être submergée en se retrouvant ici et a désespérément besoin de bienveillance, de patience et des soins attentionnés alors qu'elle commence à s'installer et à apprendre que le monde peut être un endroit sûr. Lorsque Nora est arrivée chez nous, elle montrait certains symptômes neurologiques et de l'ataxie, et ses pattes arrière glissaient parfois sous elle, ce qui la faisait trébucher. Après des examens effectués par nos vétérinaires, il a été constaté que sa proprioception était retardée dans les quatre membres. Elle a suivi un traitement médicamenteux accompagné d'une période de repos en cage et a fait d'excellents progrès. Sa proprioception est désormais normale, elle peut se déplacer et jouer joyeusement, et elle profite beaucoup plus confortablement de la vie. Elle présente encore un léger degré d'ataxie et peut parfois boiter. Notre vétérinaire pense qu'elle a probablement subi une blessure aiguë à un moment donné dans le passé, qui s'est largement résolue, mais elle ne sera probablement jamais comme un chien normal. Nora cherchera des adoptants qui l'aimeront et la chériront telle qu'elle est. En raison de son histoire de mobilité, elle aura besoin d'un foyer sans sol glissant ou avec de nombreux tapis et tapis pour l'aider à se déplacer confiantement et en sécurité. Elle sera le plus adaptée à un foyer calme et silencieux avec des adoptants ayant de l'expérience avec les chiens ex-facteurs anxieux et comprenant ses anxiétés. Nora aura besoin de temps pour s'installer à son propre rythme et aura besoin d'adoptants patients qui seront heureux de laisser sa progression se faire à son propre rythme. Elle prend beaucoup de confort de la compagnie d'autres chiens et aura besoin d'au moins un autre chien gentil et confiant dans son nouveau foyer pour lui montrer le chemin et l'aider à gagner en confiance. Nora n'a jamais connu la vie en famille auparavant, donc sa nouvelle famille devra être compréhensive alors qu'elle apprend tout sur la vie en famille et de nouvelles compétences comme l'entraînement à la maison. Elle ne marche pas encore en laisse et harnais et initialement, elle aura besoin de pratiquer le port de son harnais et d'explorer en toute sécurité à l'intérieur et dans le jardin avant d'être prête à sortir plus loin. Bien que Nora soit encore très inquiète et incertaine face au monde autour d'elle, sous ses peurs se cache une petite fille douce et digne d'être aimée qui n'a simplement besoin de quelqu'un qui croit en elle. Regarder un chien effrayé apprendre lentement à faire confiance est l'une des expériences les plus récompensantes, et avec amour, patience et compréhension, Nora fleurira. Le jour où elle vous accueillera avec une queue qui remue et un éclat dans les yeux rendra chaque moment de ce voyage worthwhile. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Nora is a gentle girl who has come to us from a breeder and is now in foster, where she has been able to experience life in a home for the first time. She has been in foster for over a month now, and this has given us a much better understanding of her mobility, as well as allowing her confidence to grow and her lovely personality to shine through. Nora is still very mistrustful of people, but she is beginning to show us that she really does want to make friends. She is now much more willing to approach her fosterer and has recently started coming over to take treats from her. She will even jump up onto the sofa to watch Netflix, as long as there is another dog already on the sofa with her! These may seem like small things, but for Nora they are huge steps forward and show just how much she is beginning to relax. She will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her home that will allow her to lean on them as she continues to settle. She absolutely loves the comforts of home life and takes great reassurance from having other dogs around her. She has also been on a few short walks outside the home, allowing her to slowly experience the world beyond her garden. She is still a very sensitive girl and everything will need to be introduced gradually, but she is making lovely progress. Nora's mobility has also improved in a home setting. Her ataxia appears to be closely linked to her stress levels and is much more noticeable when she is worried or overwhelmed. When she is relaxed, her movements are almost normal, which is incredibly encouraging. She is not currently on any medication, and her fosterer is helping her to build muscle strength through daily massage and gentle exercise. Nora will need a quiet and understanding home with adopters who have experience with nervous dogs and, ideally, ex-breeders. She will need at least one calm, friendly resident dog to give her confidence and show her the way. Her new family will need to be incredibly patient and allow her to settle and build trust at her own pace, without expecting too much too soon. Nora has had lots of hardships in her life and is still learning that she can feel safe around people. However, the progress she has made since moving into foster has been wonderful to see. Beneath her worries is a very sweet girl who is slowly discovering how lovely life can be, and we are hoping that the right home will give her the security, patience and love she needs to continue blossoming. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
