Hilda egy nagy román juhászkutyás keverék. A passzusában szerepel, hogy 2019. februárban született, de hat évnél is idősebbnek tűnik. Hilda élete részévé váltunk, és mi is a miénk. Az első alkalommal, amikor látogatást tettünk Romániában Crivatu magánmenhelyére, ott maradt addig, amíg 2024 nem lett. Azoknak a történetének elmondása, ha egyáltalán igaz, túl rettenetes ahhoz, hogy nyomtatásba kerüljön, ezért csak annyit mondanék, hogy sok mindenen átment, és bár megérthetően félséges az emberekkel szemben, minket mindig gyengéden kezel. Hilda egy nagy kutyával, nyugodt jelenléttel. Tisztán mozog, elegánsan és királyi modorral. Ha lehet, elkerüli a külsőket, de amint hozzászokott a házi emberekhez, közel akar lenni, mindig úgy tűnik, hogy szeretné, ha megcsókolnának, de még nem készen áll rá. Amikor hozzád megy, örül a csóknak és a fésülködésnek, és álomba merül a térdeden. Hilda nem szereti a sétákat, valószínűleg nem akar több mint tizenöt percig sétálni. Nem tudjuk, ez bizalmi válság-e, vagy mozgáskorlátozás, nehéz olvasni belőle. Jól viseli a szoros vezetéket, de megijedhet, így egy vidéki otthonra vágyik, mert nem bírja a forgalmat vagy a tömegeket. Bár félni tud, Hilda igen gyöngéd kutya, nyugalom és csend kell neki, nem lehet 12 éven aluli gyerek, és legalább egy másik kutya kell. Aki fogadni akarja, nyugodtnak és türelmesnek kell lennie a bizalom megszerzéséhez, talán sosem nyílik teljesen az emberek iránt a múlt borzalmai miatt. Rendben van a biztonságos menhelyi kiscalappal, de nem néz rá. Hilda fosterelt Norwich Norfolk. Ha érdekel, írj vagy hívj 9-5-ig hétfőtől péntekig, vagy 9-4-ig szombaton. Állállomány befizetési díjak 2025. december 1-től: Kiskutyák már sterilizálva és minden felnőtt kutya: 430 £. Sterilizálatlan kiskutyák spay/neuter szerződésekkel: 530 £ (megkapod a 100 £ visszatérítést, amikor elküldöd nekünk a sterilizálás bizonyítékát). Idős kutyák (10+ év): 150–250 £ (az életkor és az individuális igényektől függően). Állállomány Feltételek és Szabályok: Ha egy Safe Rescue kutyát fogadsz, kötelező használni egy csúszóvonzót. Ez biztosítani fogja a kutyád biztonságát: a mostani kutya ideges lesz, és nem fog megbízni benned, és nem tudod, milyen helyzetek zavarhatják meg a kutyádat. Ha a kutya pánikba esik, akkor a csúszóvonzó az egyetlen módja annak, hogy megakadályozd, hogy elmenjen (egyes kutyák el tudnak szökni egy nyakörvből és/vagy egy mellényből). Legalább 3-6 hónapra van szükség, hogy a kutya beilleszkedjen, és te is teljesen ismerd a kutyádat (a nyugtalankodó kutyák esetén hosszabb ideig tart). A csúszóvonzóval mindig használni kell ebben a beilleszkedési időszakban. Még akkor is, ha a kutya beleszokott, biztonságosabb használni a csúszóvonzót olyan helyzetekben, ahol a kutya megijedhet (pl. új helyek látogatása, ismeretlen emberek közelében, orvosnál), és olyan helyzetekben, ahol váratlan trigger események történhetnek (pl. tűzijáték este). A nyugtalankodó kutyák mindig viselhetik a csúszóvonzót biztonsági mentőként. A csúszóvonzó egy biztonsági eszköz, és soha nem szabad képzési eszközként használni. A vezetőt a kutya nyakára helyezve káros. Ha a kutya húzza a vezetőt, segíthetünk a módszerek tanulmányozásában, amelyek nem okoznak károkat. Amikor a kutya beleszokott, érdemes figyelembe venni a mellény használatát (együtt a csúszóvonzóval), ha a kutya komfortban érzi magát, amikor fel van öltve. Hilda is a large Romanian shepherd cross. Her passport says she was born Feb 2019 but she acts a bit older than six. We have been a part of Hilda’s life and her a part of ours for years. She was in the private shelter in Crivatu Romania the very first time we visited and stayed there until 2024. The story of how she came to be rescued, if indeed it’s true, is too horrible to put into print so I will just say that she has been through a lot and, although understandably scared of people, treats us with nothing but gentleness. Hilda is a large dog with a calm presence. She moves with grace and poise and is quite regal in her demeanour. She will avoid strangers if she can but once she is used to the people in the home she will choose to be close by and always looks like she wants to come for a fuss but she’s just not quite ready yet. When you go to her she is happy to be fussed and groomed and will fall asleep with her head on your lap. Hilda is not keen on her walks and really doesn’t want to go for more than fifteen minutes. We are not sure if this is a crisis of confidence or if it’s a mobility issue, she’s a difficult dog to read. She walks nicely on a lead but can panic when spooked so we are looking for a rural home for her as she will not cope with a lot of traffic or crowds. Despite her fears Hilda is such a gentle dog, she will need a calm and quiet environment with no children under twelve and with at least one other dog. Anyone considering adopting her must be calm and patient in gaining her trust and maybe she will never fully open up to humans due to the horrors of her past. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
