Jazz è un Arabo X Gallesse della Sezione D di 15,2 hh, nata nel 1999. Soffre di una condizione respiratoria chiamata BPCO, o Malattia Polmonare Ostruttiva Cronic, che è simile all'asma umana. Jazz è arrivata a Shy Lowen nel agosto 2008, dopo che era stata acquistata da principianti alla ricerca di un cavallo per la famiglia. Jazz fu il primo cavallo che videro e lo acquistarono immediatamente perché rimasero colpiti dalla sua splendida apparenza, nonostante fosse un giovane cavallo nervoso del tutto inadatto alle loro esigenze. Jazz sviluppò problemi comportamentali a causa del suo maltrattamento e divenne pericolosa per la famiglia, soprattutto quando scalciava mentre veniva montata. A causa di questo e della sua BPCO, non riuscirono a venderla e invece la iscrissero al santuario. Jazz si adattò velocemente a Shy Lowen e rispose bene al suo rieducazione. La sua BPCO viene scatenata dal polvere dei letami e fieno, quindi trae beneficio dall'abitare all'esterno e ora soffre raramente di sintomi. Jazz è un bel cavallo, ma anche una tipica giumenta castana, e la sua razza Araba ne fa aumentare ulteriormente l'energia e l'indole impulsiva! È facile da gestire a terra, ma ha bisogno di un cavaliere esperto poiché può essere pauroso, si annoia facilmente e non esita a fare capricci con un raro scalcio o un rialzo per ottenere ciò che vuole! Le piace saltare ed è più adatta a un cavaliere sicuro che abbia le capacità per proseguire il suo addestramento e che apprezzi una sfida.

Jazz is a 15.2hh Arab X Welsh Section D, born in 1999. She suffers from a respiratory condition called COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which is similar to human Asthma. Jazz came to Shy Lowen in August 2008, after she had been bought by novices looking for a family horse. Jazz was the first horse they saw and they bought her immediately as they were taken with her striking looks, despite her being a young, flighty horse who was totally unsuitable for their needs. Jazz developed behavioural problems as a result of her being mishandled and became a danger to the family, especially as she bucked when ridden. Because of this and her COPD, they were unable to sell her on and instead signed her into the sanctuary. Jazz settled quickly at Shy Lowen and responded well to her retraining. Her COPD is triggered by dust from bedding and hay, so she benefits from living outdoors and now rarely suffers any symptoms. Jazz is a lovely horse, but also a typical chestnut mare, and her Arab breeding only makes her even more spirited and temperamental! She is good to handle on the ground, but needs an experienced rider as she can be spooky, is easily bored, and thinks nothing of throwing tantrums with the odd buck or rear to get her own way! She loves to jump and is best suited to a confident rider who has the skills to continue her schooling and enjoys a challenge.
