Desmond è un incrocio di media taglia che si avvicina ai due anni. Timido con i gatti. Ha bisogno di un cane in casa. Bambini rispettosi dai 12 anni in su. Desmond è stato portato nel rifugio pubblico di Botosani come cucciolo, nessuno ricorda chi lo ha portato lì o perché. Purtroppo non è stato scelto per l'adozione e quindi è cresciuto lì. Il giorno in cui i cuccioli vengono trasferiti dalla sezione cuccioli a quella degli adulti è un momento molto triste, le loro possibilità di uscire diminuiscono significativamente con quel breve tragitto attraverso il rifugio. Desmond è stato segnalato a noi come uno dei cuccioli dell'anno scorso quando siamo stati a visita a ottobre dello scorso anno. Si è aggiunto alla nostra lista "prossimi cani" e recentemente è arrivato in Inghilterra. È stato molto per lui abituarsi essendo mai uscito dalle mura del rifugio, ma sta imparando e sta aprendosi alle nuove avventure. Desmond è un ragazzo dolce che all'inizio è timido con le persone nuove e avrà bisogno di alcune settimane per connettersi pienamente con la sua nuova famiglia. È una persona amabile e va molto bene con gli altri cani. Era inizialmente sconvolto dall'introduzione di una nuova specie quando ha incontrato il gatto del rifugio sicuro e evitava di guardarlo a meno che non fosse certo che il gatto guardasse dall'altra parte. Avrebbe bisogno di almeno un altro cane per continuare a mostrarli le basi nella sua casa definitiva. Desmond può vivere con bambini rispettosi dai 12 anni in su. Desmond ha adottato Norwich Norfolk Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Le tariffe di adozione sono Puppi già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Puppi non castrati con contratti di castrazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta che ci invierai la prova della castrazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150–£250 (a seconda dell'età e delle esigenze individuali). Condizioni generali di adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI utilizzare una guinzaglio a scivolo. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scivolo è l'unico modo per impedire al cane di scappare (molti cani possono scappare da collare e/o imbracatura). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi affinché il cane si adatti e tu possa conoscere pienamente il tuo cane (più a lungo per cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scivolo deve SEMPRE essere utilizzato durante il periodo di adattamento. Anche dopo che il cane si è adattato, è più sicuro utilizzare il guinzaglio a scivolo in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe aver paura (es. visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi trigger imprevisti (es. intorno al 5 novembre). I cani nervosi potrebbero sempre dover indossare un guinzaglio a scivolo come misura di sicurezza supplementare. Il guinzaglio a scivolo è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Utilizzare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione al collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, ti consiglieremo metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si è adattato, potresti voler considerare l'uso di una cintura (insieme al guinzaglio a scivolo) se il cane è comodo con essere maneggiato quando è fissato. Desmond is a medium sized crossbreed who is coming up to two years old. Wary of the cat. Needs a resident dog. Respectful children 12 plus. Desmond was taken into the Botosani public shelter as a pup, nobody remembers who took him there or why. Sadly he didn’t get picked for adoption so he grew up there. The day that the puppies there get transferred from the puppy block to the adult block is a very depressing day indeed, their chances of ever leaving decrease significantly on that short walk across the shelter. Desmond was pointed out to us as one of last years pups when we visited in October last year. He joined our “future dogs” list and has recently joined us here in the UK. It’s been a lot for him to get used to when he’s never seen outside of the shelter walls, but he’s learning and he’s opening up to the new adventures. Desmond is a sweet boy who is initially wary of new people and will need a few weeks to fully connect with his new family. He’s an amiable chap and gets on great with the other dogs. He was initially shocked at the introduction of a new species when he met the safe rescue cat and avoided looking at him unless he was sure that the cat was looking the other way. He would need at least one other dog to continue to show him the ropes in his forever home. Desmond could live with respectful children aged twelve plus. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
