Lizzie è un incrocio di media taglia con circa quattro anni. Lizzie è entrata nel nostro allevamento alcuni mesi fa dopo che l'abbiamo conosciuta durante un viaggio al rifugio pubblico di Botosani in Romania. Allora era terribilmente magra e ci chiedevamo se sarebbe sopravvissuta abbastanza a lungo per poterla portare in Inghilterra. Da quando è arrivata ha gradualmente guadagnato peso ed è ora diventata una dolce, affettuosa e felice piccola ragazza. Lizzie era sempre curiosa delle persone e contenta di stare con loro, ma all'inizio aveva paura di essere veramente toccata. Ci sono voluti alcuni mesi perché imparasse a fidarsi delle persone, il che è comprensibile considerando il suo passato. È nella casa di accoglienza inglese da alcuni mesi e può ancora essere un po' diffidente verso gli sconosciuti o i movimenti improvvisi, tuttavia negli ultimi mesi ha imparato ad essere sicura nel chiedere attenzioni alle persone e gode del contatto. Dà alla sua famiglia di accoglienza le più incredibili "scodinzolate complete" quando la coda comincia a muoversi! Lizzie può vivere con altri cani o essere unico cane se l'adottante è a casa la maggior parte del tempo. È molto giocosa e ama i suoi giocattoli per mordere. Sarebbe felice in un ambiente con bambini di età superiore ai dieci anni. Lizzie ha imparato a camminare al guinzaglio e ora gode appieno delle sue passeggiate. È un carattere birichino e allegro che ha tanto dentro di sé che emergerà nelle settimane a venire. Lizzie è in accoglienza a Norwich Norfolk. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 dal lunedì al venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 il sabato. Le quote di adozione dal 1° dicembre 2025 sono: Cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Cuccioli non castrati con contratti di sterilizzazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta inviata la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150–£250 (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Politica di adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI usare un guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per impedire al cane di scappare (molti cani possono evadere dai collari e/o dalle pettorine). Ci vorranno AT LEAST 3-6 mesi per permettere al cane di ambientarsi e per conoscere pienamente il cane (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve SEMPRE essere utilizzato durante questo periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il cane si è ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi scatenanti imprevisti (es. intorno alla notte dei fuochi d'artificio). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre il guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si è ambientato, potresti considerare l'utilizzo di una pettorina (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è a suo agio nel essere manipolato quando è fissata. La maggior parte delle pettorine non è resistente agli scappamenti, ma quelle con una cingia dietro le costole (es. Ruffwear Webmaster o harness Perfect Fit) sono più sicure. Lizzie is a medium sized crossbreed aged around four years old. Lizzie came into our care a few months ago after we met her on a trip to the Botosani public shelter in Romania. She was scarily emaciated back then and we did wonder if she would survive long enough for us to get her to the UK. Since her arrival she has steadily put on weight and has now flourished into a friendly, loving and happy little girl. Lizzie was always curious about people and happy to be around them but was initially afraid to be actually touched. It has taken a few months for her to learn to trust people which is understandable given her background. She has been in her UK foster home for a few months now and can still be a little wary of strangers or sudden movements, however over the last few weeks she has learnt to be confident to approach people for a fuss and enjoys being stroked. She gives her foster family the most incredible ‘whole body wags’ when her tail gets going! Lizzie could live with other dogs or be an only dog if adopter was home most of the time. She is very playful and loves her chew toys. She would be happy in a household with children aged ten plus. Lizzie has learnt how to walk on a lead and is now thoroughly enjoying her walks. She is a mischievous and cheerful character who has so much more inside of her that will emerge in the weeks ahead. Lizzie is fostered in Norwich Norfolk. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
