Elena è un incrocio di media a grande taglia, circa cinque o sei anni. Non ancora testata con i gatti - ma potrebbe esserlo. Può vivere con o senza altri cani. Può vivere con bambini di qualsiasi età. Abbiamo incontrato Elena nel marzo di quest'anno quando abbiamo visitato il rifugio pubblico di Botoșani in Romania. Aveva una zampa anteriore gravemente torta. Ha subito due interventi per riparare il membro danneggiato, ma purtroppo non hanno funzionato e alla fine è stata amputata. Elena è il cane più gioioso che si possa mai incontrare. Nonostante le sue condizioni nel triste rifugio rimane vivace e allegra. È gentile e affettuosa e ama tutte le persone che incontra. Elena si adatta bene agli altri cani, ma può vivere felicemente anche come unico cane in casa. Potrebbe vivere con bambini rispettosi di qualsiasi età. Elena è stata in cura a Marlborough Wiltshire. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Tariffe per adozione Dal 1° dicembre 2025, sono: Cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Cuccioli non castrati con contratti di castrazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta che ci invierai la prova della castrazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150-£250 (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Condizioni generali per l'adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI usare una guinzaglio a scivolo. Questo terrà al sicuro il tuo cane: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero agitare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scivolo è l'unica via per evitare che scappi (molti cani possono sfuggire da collare e/o bardatura). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per far abituare il cane e per conoscerlo pienamente (più tempo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scivolo deve SEMPRE essere utilizzato durante questo periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il cane si è ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scivolo in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni dove potrebbero verificarsi scatenanti inaspettati (es. intorno al 5 novembre). I cani nervosi potrebbero sempre indossare un guinzaglio a scivolo come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scivolo è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Applicare pressione sul collo del cane con il guinzaglio è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si è ambientato, potresti considerare l'uso di una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scivolo) se il cane è a suo agio quando viene fissata. La maggior parte delle cingie non è anti-scappatoia, ma quelle con una cingia dietro le costole (es. Ruffwear Webmaster o Perfect Fit Harnesses) sono più sicure. Can live with children of all ages We met Elena in March this year when we visited the Botoşani public shelter in Romania. She had a badly twisted front leg. She had two operations to try and fix the damaged limb but sadly they didn’t work and it was ultimately amputated. Elena is the most joyous dog you could ever meet. Despite her surroundings in the grim shelter she remains bubbly and up beat. She is friendly and affectionate and loves everyone she meets. Elena mixes well with other dogs, but could also live happily as the only dog in the home. She could live with respectful children of all ages. Elena fostered Marlborough Wiltshire. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
