Aggiornamento 19.12.2024: Hai conosciuto il nostro KANELLOS? Era una vera celebrità per le strade di Chania. È vero! Kanellos sicuramente ha tante storie da raccontare da tutti gli avventurosi episodi che ha vissuto. Ma la vita in strada non è un gioco, soprattutto per gli anziani! Ora in pensione dal suo lavoro come capo delle strade, Kanellos sogna di diventare un tenerone a tempo pieno. Dopo aver trascorso un po' di tempo in un recinto privato, è finalmente arrivato al rifugio quest'ottobre. Speriamo non resti troppo a lungo. Vedi, il nostro Kanellos è un anziano gentile che vuole solo rannicchiarsi accanto a te. Una vita tranquilla e semplice, piena di tutto il calore e l'amore che può ottenere. Adotta Kanellos oggi! Il Progetto Rifugio Souda Aggiornamento 3.12.2022: Non dimentichiamo Kanellos. Kanellos vagava per le strade di Chania ed era più conosciuto del sindaco stesso. Era il cane alpha. Alpha della città. Una notte si è scontrato con un cane domestico, molto più piccolo di lui. Si diceva che i proprietari sarebbero tornati quella sera per sbarazzarsi di Kanellos. Non potevamo permettere che accadesse. Io personalmente ero un grande fan di lui, tutta la mia vita a Chania, dalla prima volta che lo incontrai per strada. Così l'ho fatto prelevare e da allora vive in un recinto privato. Mangia BARF. Ha i propri spazi interni ed esterni ma non è comunque una casa. Senza contare i costi di mantenerlo lì sono completamente irrazionali per il nostro budget. Dobbiamo dare una casa a Kanellos. È tempo che questo bello inizi una nuova vita. In una casa, su un divano. È un uomo anziano. Sette anni o più. Anche se era un duro per le strade, sotto cura personale è diventato un tenerone. Gli altri animali non lo disturbano molto. E è perfettamente socievole con le persone, immaginate quanti ne aveva a che fare in un giorno. Preferiamo che viva in una casa con un solo animale, solo per la sua età e la vita che ha vissuto fino a oggi. Gioca a prendere, vuole grattatine sulla pancia, merita una casa. Sia questa la tua casa. Apri il tuo cuore a Kanellos, il cane più famoso a camminare per le strade di Chania. Guarda alcune delle foto più belle di lui in strada qui: Aggiornamento 28 novembre 2022: Recentemente abbiamo fatto nuove foto di Kanellos che gioca con un giocattolo di plastica - divertiti! La sua storia: Kanellos è stato ferito ieri sera ma non gravemente. L'abbiamo dovuto rimuovere dalla strada perché la sua vita era in pericolo. Ora è in un recinto fino a quando potremo sistemare una recinzione sicura per lui nel rifugio. Probabilmente è arrabbiato con me ma preferisco che sia arrabbiato e vivo piuttosto che morto. Il recinto costa. Così come sistemare la recinzione. Considera di donare al nostro progetto, o almeno a quello di Kanello. Vale veramente la pena! Chi è interessato ad adottare Kanello deve sapere quanto segue: Non va d'accordo con i gatti. È meglio come cane unico o con una femmina grossa. È un anziano quindi avrà alcuni problemi geriatrici che scopriremo nelle prossime settimane (come l'artrosi alle gambe posteriori). Consideralo. Un personaggio più colorato sicuramente non hai mai conosciuto. È praticamente umano. Elizabeth l'ha preso. (vedi qui) La sua storia: Kanellos. Kanello. Kanellino. Kanello ha bisogno di una casa. Il randagio più colorato a girovagare per le strade di Chania. È il capo. È un tenerone. Ha un senso dell'umorismo. Può essere molto serio. È stanco. Tanti anni alla mercé della comunità: i rabbiosi, i felici, gli ubriachi, i frustrati, gli amanti, gli indifferenti... probabilmente potrebbe scrivere un libro. Prenderei io stesso Kanello a casa. Vedi, ho una relazione d'amore con Kanello senza che lui lo sappia. Sono innamorata come una scolaretta quando lo vedo e mi rattristo come un bambino quando la sua attenzione si sposta altrove e lui corre via da me. Prenderei io stesso Kanello a casa ma lui non va d'accordo con i gatti. E io ne ho tanti. Kanello ha bisogno di una casa. Il suo corpo è logoro, le sue gambe sono stanche. Sicuramente ritornerà in vita una volta accudito e amato ma se rimane in strada non credo che durerà molto a lungo. Kanello ha più di otto anni, è un anziano. Se sei interessato e supererai le nostre aspettative, lo prenderemo, lo porteremo subito dal veterinario per analisi del sangue e un controllo completo. Metteremo aggiornate le sue vaccinazioni. È stato castrato dal Comune. Avrà bisogno di un padrone esperto di cani. Kanello ha bisogno di una casa. Aggiornamento 19.12.2024: Kanello è un randagio famoso in città di Chania. È grande e coraggioso e ama raduni, manifestazioni e sfilate. Quest'anno, come ogni anno, ha partecipato alla corsa di San Nicola. Se sei interessato ad adottarlo, fannocelo sapere. Certo è bello vederlo partecipare a eventi simili ma sarebbe ancora meglio vederlo sul divano di qualcuno in una casa calda. E per favore non chiedermi se è bravo con le persone.

Update 19.12.2024: Have you met our KANELLOS? He used to be quite the celebrity on the streets of Chania. It’s true! Kanellos surely has many stories to tell from all the adventures he’s had. But life on the streets is no joke, especially for the oldies! Now retired from his job as chief of the streets, Kanellos dreams of becoming a full-time softie. After spending some time in a private kennel, he finally arrived at the shelter this October. We’re hoping he won’t stay too long. You see, our Kanellos is a gentle senior who wants nothing more than to curl up next to you. A quiet, simple life, filled with all the warmth and love he can get Please consider adopting a senior dog. Please consider adopting our Kanellos, so he can finally enjoy the safety of a loving home he has waited for all his life Be a part of the project. Adopt Kanellos today! The Souda Shelter Project Update 3.12.2022: Let’s not forget Kanellos. Kanellos roamed the streets of Chania and was better known than the mayor himself. He was alpha dog. Alpha of the town. One night he got into a scuff with an owned dog, much smaller his size. Rumor had it that the owners would be back that evening to get rid of Kanellos. We could not let that happen. I myself was a huge fan of his, my whole life in Chania, from the first time I encountered him on the street. So I had him picked up and since that time he has been living in a private kennel. He eats BARF. He has his own inside outside living quarters but that still does not amount to a home. Not to mention the cost of having him there is completely irrational to our budget. We have to get Kanellos a home. It’s time this beauty begins his new life. In a home, on a couch. He is an older gentleman. Seven plus. Although he was a tough guy on the streets he has become a softy under personal care. Other animals don’t phase him much. And he is fully sociable with people, just imagine how many he had to deal with in one day. We do prefer he live in a single animal home, just because of his age and the life he has led till now. He plays catch, he wants belly rubs, he is deserving of a home. Be that home. Open your heart to Kanellos, the most famous dog to walk the streets of Chania. His story: Kanellos was hurt last night but not seriously. We had to take him off the street because his life was in danger. He is now in a kennel till we can fix a pen for him to stay in safely at the shelter. He’s probably mad at me but I’d rather he be mad and alive than dead. The kennel costs. So does fixing the pen. Please consider donating to our cause, or at least to Kanello’s cause. He is so worth it! Anyone interested in adopting Kanello should know the following: He is not good with cats. He is best as a single dog or with a large female. He is a senior so he will have some geriatric issues which we will uncover in the next weeks (like back leg arthritis). Please consider him. The most colorful stray to roam the streets of Chania. He is the chief. He is a softy. He has a sense of humor. He can be very serious. He is tired. So many years at the mercy of the community: the angry, the happy, the drunk, the frustrated, the loving, the indifferent…he could probably write a book. I would take him home myself. You see, I have a love affair with Kanello unknowing to him. I swoon like a schoolgirl when I see him and sulk like a child when his attention is drawn elsewhere and he trots away from me. I would take him home myself but he is not good with cats. And I have so many. Kanello needs a home. His body is worn, his legs are tired. For sure he will spring back to life once pampered and loved but if he stays on the street I don’t see him lasting much longer. Kanello is over eight years of age, he is a senior. If you are interested and you pass our expectations we will collect him, take him straight to the vet for bloodwork and a thorough check up. We will bring his vaccinations up-to-date. He has been castrated by the Municipality. He will need an experienced dog owner Kanello needs a home. Update 19.12.2024: Kanello is a famous stray in Chania town. He is big and bold and LOVES gatherings, protests and parades. This year, like every year he participated in the annual Santa Run. If you’re interested in adopting him please let us know. Of course it’s nice to see him participate in such events but it would be even nicer to see him on someone’s couch in someone’s warm home. And please don’t ask me if he’s good with people
