Poiché non aveva mai lasciato la sua casa, Mickey ha perso l'opportunità di imparare a muoversi nel grande mondo. Neppure sapeva cosa fosse una guinzaglio e oggi la vista di uno lo spaventa ancora. Lasciare l'unico mondo che aveva conosciuto era molto stressante per Mickey e il suo percorso nel nostro reality è stato estremamente difficile. Quando si sente spaventato o sopraffatto, si difende ringhiando e mordendo. Non è che sia cattivo; è semplicemente terrorizzato. Il nostro cuore si spezza per lui perché non gli è stata data una buona partenza, ma sappiamo che dietro questa paura c'è un cane con tanto potenziale, che aspetta solo la persona giusta per fargli capire che è al sicuro. Mickey ha bisogno urgentemente di un proprietario esperto e particolarmente paziente disposto a tornare alle basi. Ha bisogno di un ambiente tranquillo dove non sarà mai affrettato o costretto e dove i suoi confini saranno rispettati profondamente. Non sarai solo perché il supporto comportamentale necessario sarà fornito da The Red Foundation. Abbiamo notato che Mickey trova grande conforto nella compagnia degli altri cani, prendendo fiducia da loro quando il mondo sembra troppo grande. Per questo motivo, deve andare in una casa con un cane residente amichevole per farlo sentire sicuro e insegnargli come essere un cane. Mickey ha tanto amore da dare una volta che impara a fidarsi. That is the reality for Mickey, a beautiful boy who came into our care when his owner entered end-of-life care. Because he had never once left his home, Mickey missed out on learning how to navigate the big wide world. He didn’t even know what a lead was, and today, the sight of one is still stressful for him. Leaving the only world he ever knew was deeply distressing for Mickey, and his journey into our reality has been incredibly hard. When he feels frightened or overwhelmed, he protects himself by growling and snapping. He is not being bad; he is simply terrified. Our hearts break for him because he was never given a fair start, but we know that underneath that fear is a dog with so much potential, just waiting for the right person to show him he is safe. Mickey desperately needs an experienced, exceptionally patient owner who is willing to go right back to basics. He needs a quiet home where he will never be rushed or forced, and where his boundaries will be deeply respected.
