Il ne savait même pas ce qu'était une laisse, et aujourd'hui, le spectacle d'une laisse le terrifie encore. Quitter le seul monde qu'il ait jamais connu a été profondément stressant pour Mickey, et son cheminement vers notre réalité a été extrêmement difficile. Quand il se sent effrayé ou submergé, il se protège en grognant et en grattant. Il n'est pas méchant ; il est tout simplement terrorisé. Notre cœur se brise pour lui car il n'a jamais eu une chance équitable, mais nous savons qu'en dessous de cette peur se trouve un chien plein de potentiel, attendant juste la bonne personne pour lui montrer qu'il est en sécurité. Mickey a désespérément besoin d'un maître expérimenté, extrêmement patient, prêt à revenir aux bases. Il a besoin d'un logement calme où il ne sera jamais pressé ou forcé, et où ses limites seront profondément respectées. Vous ne serez pas seul puisque tout le soutien comportemental nécessaire sera fourni par The Red Foundation. Nous avons constaté que Mickey tire un immense réconfort de la compagnie d'autres chiens, s'inspirant d'eux lorsqu'il ressent que le monde est trop grand. En raison de cela, il doit aller dans un foyer disposant d'un chien résident amical pour qu'il se sente en sécurité et lui montre comment être un chien. Mickey a tellement d'amour à donner une fois qu'il apprend à faire confiance. That is the reality for Mickey, a beautiful boy who came into our care when his owner entered end-of-life care. Because he had never once left his home, Mickey missed out on learning how to navigate the big wide world. He didn’t even know what a lead was, and today, the sight of one is still stressful for him. Leaving the only world he ever knew was deeply distressing for Mickey, and his journey into our reality has been incredibly hard. When he feels frightened or overwhelmed, he protects himself by growling and snapping. He is not being bad; he is simply terrified. Our hearts break for him because he was never given a fair start, but we know that underneath that fear is a dog with so much potential, just waiting for the right person to show him he is safe. Mickey desperately needs an experienced, exceptionally patient owner who is willing to go right back to basics. He needs a quiet home where he will never be rushed or forced, and where his boundaries will be deeply respected.
