Lo abbiamo incontrato durante la campagna di sterilizzazione e castrazione che abbiamo organizzato al rifugio nel mese di ottobre ’25. Beh, non esattamente. Siamo stati noi a prendere Radu. Su una montagna, in mezzo al nulla, mentre stavamo cercando altri cani di un branco che vive lì permanentemente, lui è apparso improvvisamente davanti a noi. Lo abbiamo portato con gli altri. Con lui non c'è stato alcuno sforzo. È andato dritto verso di noi come se avesse aspettato. Dalla sua condotta e dal suo aspetto generale era chiaro che non aveva nulla a che fare con il branco vicino. Era appena stato abbandonato e lo abbiamo trovato nel momento più vulnerabile che qualsiasi cane abbandonato attraversa. Quel momento in cui, sopraffatti dall'ignoto, cercano semplicemente qualcosa a cui aggrapparsi. E lui si è aggrappato a noi. Non abbiamo potuto lasciarlo indietro. Come avremmo potuto, proprio quando aveva finalmente provato un po' di sicurezza? È arrivato al rifugio molto magro e stanco, ma in buona salute. Tutto ciò che gli serviva per recuperare era cibo adeguato e ora ne ha quanto ne vuole. Le sue orecchie e la coda sono state tagliate. Non sappiamo se qualcuno intendeva farne un cane da difesa del bestiame, ma dopo averlo conosciuto, l'idea sembra quasi assurda. Radu è un meraviglioso giovane spirito che trova gioia nelle cose più semplici. Ama fare passeggiate e desidera la compagnia umana. Ci aspetta con entusiasmo e nel momento in cui capisce che sta per uscire, fatica a contenere la sua eccitazione. Chi lo adotta avrà il privilegio di condividere la propria vita con un cane veramente speciale e dolce. Un cane che può tenerti caldo in inverno grazie al suo folto e soffice pelo e al suo cuore caldo. VIDEO

We met Radu during the spay and neuter campaign we carried out at the shelter in October ’25. Well, not exactly. We were actually the ones who picked Radu up. Up on a mountain, in the middle of nowhere, while we were searching for other dogs from a pack that lives there permanently, he suddenly appeared right in front of us. We took him along with the rest. With him, there was no effort at all. He walked straight toward us as if he had been waiting. From his behavior and overall condition, it was clear that he had nothing to do with the nearby pack. He had just been abandoned, and we found him at the most vulnerable moment any abandoned dog goes through. That moment when, overwhelmed by the unknown, they are simply looking for something to hold on to. And he held on to us. We couldn’t bring ourselves to leave him behind. How could we, just when he had finally felt a little safe? He arrived at the shelter very thin and exhausted, but otherwise in good health. All he needed to recover was proper food, and he now has as much as he wants. His ears and tail have been cut. Whether someone intended him to be a livestock guardian dog, we cannot know. But having met him, the idea feels almost absurd. Radu is a wonderful young soul who finds joy in the simplest things. He loves going for walks and craves human companionship. He waits for us eagerly, and the moment he realizes he’s about to go out, he can barely contain his excitement. Whoever adopts him will have the privilege of sharing their life with a truly special, gentle dog. A dog who can keep you warm in the winter, thanks to his thick, fluffy coat and his warm heart.
