Rosie è un incrocio di media taglia. Il suo passaporto la definisce di età circa undici anni, ma pensiamo che potrebbe essere un po' più giovane. Ha fallito il test con i gatti. Deve stare solo con altri cani. Bambini rispettosi di 8 anni in su. Rosie era una delle quattro cagne che sono state raccolte da un capannone industriale a Botosani, dove avevano vissuto per anni, dai catturatori di cani. Sono stati portati nel rifugio pubblico e due dei quattro sono morti in meno di una settimana. Non c'era dubbio che dovessimo intervenire per i due sopravvissuti. Rosie agisce come se avesse vissuto tutta la vita come una principessa, nonostante sappiamo il contrario. Non le è voluto più di un'ora per trovare il divano e decidere che è lì che deve stare ora. La sua coda corta si muove freneticamente sempre. È una ragazza dolce che ama le persone; il suo approccio sottomesso mostra che le persone non sono sempre state gentili con lei, ma vuole comunque essere amica di tutti. Rosie vorrebbe essere l'unica animale domestico in casa, ma è contenta di mescolarsi con altri cani durante le passeggiate. Le piacciono le brevi passeggiate e ha ancora un pizzico di vivacità e gioco, ma per lo più ama abbracci e sonnecchiare. Può vivere con bambini rispettosi di 8 anni in su. Se sei interessato invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 dal lunedì al venerdì oppure tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Condizioni e termini di adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, devi usare necessariamente una guinzaglio slip. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e tu non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero infastidirlo. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora lo slip lead è l'unica maniera per impedirgli di scappare (molti cani riescono a scappare da collare e/o finimenti). Ci vorrà ALMENO 3-6 mesi per farlo ambientare e per conoscerlo pienamente (più tempo per i cani nervosi). Lo slip lead deve essere sempre utilizzato durante questo periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il cane si è ambientato, è più sicuro utilizzare lo slip lead nelle situazioni in cui potrebbe spaventarsi (es. visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e nelle situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi trigger imprevisti (es. intorno al fuoco d'artificio). I cani nervosi dovranno sempre indossare uno slip lead come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Lo slip lead è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo darti consigli su metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il cane si è ambientato, puoi considerare di utilizzare un guinzaglio (insieme allo slip lead) se il cane è abituato a essere maneggiato quando è fissato. Rosie is a medium sized crossbreed. Her passport states her to be aged around eleven years old but we think she could be a bit younger. Failed cat testing. Needs to be only dog. Respectful children 8 plus. Rosie was one of a pack of four dogs who were rounded up from a factory premises in Botosani, where they’d been living for years, by the dog catchers. They were taken into the public shelter and two of the four were dead in less than a week. There was no question that we had to step up for the two survivors. Rosie acts like she’s lived the life of a princess her whole life, despite what we know to the contrary. It did not take her more than an hour to locate the sofa and decide that that’s where she belongs now. Her stumpy tail wags furiously at all times. She’s a sweet natured girl who loves people, her submissive approach shows that people have not always been kind to her but she wants to be friends with everyone anyway. Rosie would like to be the only pet in the home but is happy to mix with other dogs out on walks. She enjoys short walks and still has a cheeky little playful streak at times, mostly she likes cuddles and snoozing though. She could live with respectful children aged eight plus. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
