Samuel’s story began in fear and uncertainty he was found abandoned, scared, and all alone. After the fires, he came to us quite by chance. Originally from another refuge, Live PAWS welcomed him with open arms after seeing the close bond he had formed with another dog, Augustin. Understandably, Samuel has struggled with confidence, likely a result of his early experiences. At first, he would hide away, wary of the world around him, and as a result, was often overlooked. But slowly and steadily, Samuel is learning to trust. Thanks to Augustin’s gentle guidance, Samuel is now exploring more of life walking on a lead and starting to enjoy new experiences. He even spent time in emergency foster care during the fires, where he settled in beautifully. There’s still a journey ahead, but Samuel’s progress has been nothing short of heartwarming. His kind and loving nature is beginning to shine through more each day. Samuel would thrive in a calm, quiet home with patient adopters who can offer him the reassurance and love he needs to continue blossoming.
