Skadi è arrivata da noi senza microchip o informazioni sul suo passato, durante il periodo in cui la stagione della caccia in Spagna si è conclusa per l'anno, quindi probabilmente è una "rimanente" dei cacciatori. È stata trovata da un volontario e portata nel rifugio. All'inizio Skadi era molto timida e evitava il contatto con gli umani, ma ora si sente molto più a proprio agio con le persone, anche se non è un cane che ama accoccolarsi. Cammina bene al guinzaglio e gode di uscire in giro per la natura con i volontari, soprattutto quando ha un amico cane con lei. Nel rifugio vive in modo molto armonioso in un gruppo con altri cani, una femmina allegra e vivace e un maschio Podenco socievole. Con Maus, adorano andare a caccia insieme tra i cespugli, non appena arrivano insieme al parco cani iniziano il loro giro nei cespugli e vedrai solo le code che si muovono tra l'erba alta. Tuttavia, Skadi è molto motivata dai biscotti, quindi quando apri il sacchetto dei biscotti, comparirà accanto a te e schiuderà il suo lungo naso sottile per assicurarsi di ottenere quanti più biscotti possibile. Non abbiamo ancora portato Skadi in un ambiente urbano, ma considerando quanto le piace cercare insetti nei cespugli, possiamo supporre che preferirebbe vivere in un ambiente naturale, sia in campagna che in periferia, vicino a campi e foreste. Skadi desidererebbe sicuramente avere un secondo cane o più già pronti ad accoglierla nella sua nuova casa, per mostrarle la strada verso la nuova vita. Skadi è un tipico Podenco con il suo interesse per topi, uccelli, farfalle - una casa esperta con Podencos, Bretoni e questi tipi di cani sarebbe perfetta! È già stata esaminata per malattie mediterranee e risulta negativa per Leishmania. La sua altezza alle spalle è circa 48 cm.

Skadi arrived to us without a microchip or any background information, during the time that the hunting season ended in Spain for the year, so most likely she is a "leftover" from the hunters. She was found by a volunteers and brought to shelter. In the beginning Skadi was very shy and avoided contact with humans, but by now Skadi is feeling much more comfortable around humans, even though she is still not like a cuddling type of dog. She walks well on the leash and enjoys to go on nature adventures with volunteers, especially when she has a dog friend with her. In the shelter she lives very harmonously in a group with other dogs, one cheerful playful female and one social Podenco male. With Maus, they love to go hunting in the bushes together, as soon as they get to the dogpark together, they start their tour in the bushes, and you will only see their tails wagging in the high grass. But, Skadi is very snack-motivated, so when you open the snack bag, she will appear next to you and stick out her long slim nose, to make sure she gets as many snacks as possible. We have not yet been to a city environment with Skadi, but seeing how she enjoys hunting for bugs in the bushes, we can assume that she would most like to live in a nature environment, either on the countryside or in the suburbs, close to fields and forests. Skadi would definitely wish to have a second or more dogs already waiting for her at her new home, to show her the way into the new life. Skadi is a typical podenco with her interest towards mice, birds, butterflies - a home experienced with Podencos, Bretons and these types of dogs, would be ideal! She has already been checked for Mediterranean diseases and she is negative for Leishmania. Her shoulder height is approximately 48cm.
