Contesto: Incontrate Shreddie (marrone) e Weetabix (crema), due gerbilli maschi legati. Sono arrivati a Raystede perché i precedenti proprietari non avevano abbastanza tempo. Sono caratteri timidi ma stanno lentamente acquisendo fiducia verso le persone e diventando molto curiosi, soprattutto al momento dei pasti! Sono agitati e veloci ma tollerano il contatto per brevi periodi. Casa ideale: Shreddie e Weetabix preferirebbero una casa tranquilla con esperienza con i gerbilli. Bambini: Devono essere manipolati solo da adulti esperti/più grandi in quanto Weetabix può essere un po' mordicchiatore. Possono vivere con bambini calmi e più grandi. Altri animali: Devono essere tenuti separati da qualsiasi altro animale in casa. Shreddie e Weetabix cercano una casa come coppia. Bisogni aggiuntivi: Weetabix ha un piccolo rigonfiamento sul suo palpebro che abbiamo provato a trattare con poco cambiamento. Background: Meet Shreddie (brown) and Weetabix (beige), a pair of bonded, male gerbils. They came to Raystede as their previous owners did not have enough time. They are shy characters but are slowly building in confidence around people and becoming very inquisitive, especially at food time! They are wriggly and quick but will tolerate handling for short amounts of time. Ideal Home: Shreddie and Weetabix would prefer a quiet home who have experience with gerbils. Children: Must only be handled by experienced adults/older teens as Weetabix can be a little nibbly. Could live with calm, older children/teenagers. Other animals: Must be kept separate from any other animals in the home. Shreddie and Weetabix are looking for a home as a pair. Additional needs: Weetabix arrived with a small lump on his eyelid which we have attempted to treat with little change. The lump does not bother him and will require ongoing monitoring in his new home. Please ask the Smalls team for more information. An enclosure of at least 100cm x 50cm x 50cm (bigger is always recommended if possible) with lots of digging space, foraging opportunities and plenty of enrichment to keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
