Antecedentes: Conoce a Shreddie (marrón) y Weetabix (beige), un par de gerbos machos vinculados. Llegaron a Raystede porque sus anteriores dueños no tenían suficiente tiempo. Son personajes tímidos pero están ganando confianza gradualmente con las personas y se están volviendo muy curiosos, especialmente en la hora de comer. Son movidos y rápidos, pero toleran el manejo durante cortos períodos de tiempo. Hogar ideal: Shreddie y Weetabix preferirían un hogar tranquilo que tenga experiencia con gerbos. Niños: Deben ser manipulados solo por adultos experimentados/jóvenes mayores, ya que Weetabix puede ser un poco mordisqueador. Podrían vivir con niños o adolescentes tranquilos y mayores. Otros animales: Deben mantenerse separados de cualquier otro animal en el hogar. Shreddie y Weetabix buscan un hogar como pareja. Necesidades adicionales: Weetabix llegó con un pequeño bulto en su párpado que hemos intentado tratar sin muchos cambios. El bulto no le molesta y requerirá monitoreo continuo en su nuevo hogar. Una jaula de al menos 100 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm (más grande siempre es recomendable si es posible) con mucho espacio para excavar, oportunidades de forrajeo y plenty de enriquecimiento para mantenerlos mental y físicamente estimulados. Background: Meet Weetabix, a single male gerbil. He came to Raystede as his previous owner did not have enough time. He has a shy character but is slowly building in confidence around people and becoming very inquisitive, especially at food time! He is quite wriggly and quick but will tolerate handling for short amounts of time. Ideal Home: Weetabix would prefer a quiet home who have experience with gerbils. Children: Must only be handled by experienced adults/older teens as can be a little nibbly. Could live with calm, older children/teenagers. Other animals: Must be kept separate from any other animals in the home. Has previously lived with another male gerbil who sadly passed away, so he is now on his own. Weetabix is looking for a home with another single male gerbil as a companion. Additional needs: Weetabix arrived with a small lump on his eyelid which we have attempted to treat with little change. The lump does not bother him and will require ongoing monitoring in his new home. Please ask the Smalls Team for more information. An enclosure of at least 100cm x 50cm x 50cm (bigger is always recommended if possible) with lots of digging space, foraging opportunities and plenty of enrichment to keep him mentally and physically stimulated.
