Whiskey è un incrocio di media taglia con età tra i tre e i quattro anni. Abbiamo conosciuto Whiskey circa diciotto mesi fa quando lo abbiamo trovato in uno stato di estrema magrezza nel rifugio pubblico di Botosani. Lo abbiamo subito spostato in un rifugio privato dove poteva mangiare correttamente e guadagnare peso. Alla fine siamo riusciti a portarlo nel Regno Unito. All'arrivo Whiskey era molto diffidente nei nostri confronti, ma ora ci ama tantissimo e non riesce a contenerlo. Whiskey è molto giocoso e avrà bisogno di un altro cane nella sua casa per sempre come residente a tempo pieno. È ancora prudente con gli estranei ma quando vi ama è il ragazzo più fedele e affettuoso. Whiskey cammina bene al guinzaglio ma è ancora un po' diffidente nell'indossare e togliere il guinzaglio, continueremo ad aiutarlo a diventare più sicuro in questo mentre è sotto la nostra cura. Whiskey avrà bisogno di qualcuno che abbia esperienza con cani nervosi, poiché guadagnare la sua fiducia inizialmente richiederà del tempo. Una volta che il legame sarà stabilito, però, è davvero un cane ogni milione. Whiskey è stato in foster con Norwich Norfolk. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 dal lunedì al venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 il sabato. Tariffe di adozione e contributi Dal 1° dicembre 2025: Cuccioli già sterilizzati e tutti i cani adulti: £430. Cuccioli non sterilizzati su contratti di sterilizzazione: £530 (riceverai un rimborso di £100 una volta che ci invierai la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): £150–£250 (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Condizioni generali per l'adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI utilizzare un guinzaglio a scorrimento. Questo terrà al sicuro il tuo cane: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e tu non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero agitare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scorrimento è l'unica via per impedire al cane di scappare (molti cani riescono a fuggire da collari e/o guinzagli). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi perché il tuo cane si stabilisca e tu lo conosca pienamente (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scorrimento deve essere SEMPRE utilizzato durante il periodo di stabilimento. Anche dopo che il cane si sarà stabilito, è più sicuro utilizzare il guinzaglio a scorrimento in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (ad esempio visitando luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi trigger imprevisti (ad esempio intorno alla notte dei falò). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre un guinzaglio a scorrimento come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scorrimento è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione sul collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Dopo che il cane si sarà stabilizzato, potresti considerare di utilizzare una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scorrimento) se il cane è comodo con l'essere maneggiato quando è fissata. La maggior parte delle cingie non sono anti-scappatoia, ma quelle con una cingia dietro le costole (es. Ruffwear Webmaster o Perfect Fit Harnesses) sono più sicure. Guinzagli retrattili/estensibili non devono mai essere utilizzati sui nostri cani. I cani adottati devono essere raccolti dal rifugio e trasportati direttamente a casa in una gabbia metallica sicura. Whiskey is a medium sized crossbreed aged three to four years old. We met Whiskey about eighteen months ago when we found him in an emaciated state in the Botosani public shelter. We immediately moved him to a private shelter where he would be able to eat properly and gain weight. Eventually we were able to take him in the UK On arrival Whiskey was very distrustful of us, but he now loves us so much he can barely contain it all. Whiskey is very playful and will need another dog in his forever home as full time resident. He’s still wary of strangers but when he loves you he is the most loyal and affectionate boy. Whiskey walks nicely on a lead but is still a bit wary of having the lead put on and taken off, we will continue to help him grow more confident with this whilst he’s in our care. Whiskey will need someone experienced with nervous dogs as gaining his trust initially wil take time. Once the bond is made though he is truly a dog in a million. Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
