Bailey en Ozzie zijn een gebonden paar B&G Macaws. Ozzie is ongeveer 30 jaar oud en Bailey is 14 jaar oud en DNA mannelijk. Geschiedenis/achtergrond: Bailey en Ozzie kwamen in 2025 bij de vereniging terecht. Huidige toestand: Bailey heeft prachtige vleren. Ozzie is iets verweerd, vooral zijn staart. Opleiding: We werken eraan! Dit zal een continue proces zijn. Beide vogels gedragen zich goed, ze gaan meestal terug naar de kooi als je het zegt en stoppen hun eten erin. Bailey is meestal de eerste, dan volgt Ozzie. Je kunt ze niet vasthouden, ze stappen niet op handen omdat ze dat nooit zijn geleerd. Ozzie stapt altijd op een stok als je hem moet verplaatsen, maar Bailey doet dat alleen soms. Beiden nemen knuffels zachtjes van je hand. Ozzie is veel nerviger en blijft achter, hij vindt het leuk om zich op te pompen en op te draven om je weg te jagen. Bailey is zeker meer open en wil leren. Hij is de baas! Dieet: De jongens hebben 'chop' of verse groenten overdag en Tidymix of J&J laag zonneschijf/nootjes 's avonds. Ze houden van zoete rode paprika's en hun favoriete noten zijn cashewnoten en walnoten. Ozzie eet meer vers voedsel dan Bailey, hij is moeilijker te overtuigen. Ze hebben twee borden van alles, dus elk heeft er een. Soms denkt Bailey dat alles van hem is! Verrijking: Geen van de vogels is gewend aan speeltjes, en er waren geen geschikte perches in hun kooi. Nu hebben ze speeltjes en een verscheidenheid aan perches. Ze mogen parrotspeeltjes in de kooi, maar spelen er eigenlijk niet mee. Ze genieten van gekreukeld bruin papier en snijden kartonnen dozen. Bailey gooit graag kruimelbiscuitdozen vanaf de top van de kooi, en vindt het geweldig! Bailey houdt ook van een douchesessie, Ozzie vindt het niet erg, maar niet zo enthousiast! Samenvatting: Ze zijn mooie vogels en zijn een genoegen geweest om tijdelijk onder te brengen. Ik denk dat met veel zorg en geduld ze grote sprongen zullen maken. Bailey vooral, want hij is veel gevoeliger en wil leren en interactie met jou. Ze nodigen een huis met een sterke, zelfverzekerde eigenaar die gewend is aan grote vogels. Deze lui zijn niet gedomesticeerd, knuffelige vogels. Ze zijn gelukkig met hun eigen ding doen. Ze zijn gewend om de hele dag uit de kooi te zijn, samen te zitten en de wereld te beslissen, of rond te waggelen op de vloer, kartonnen dozen te kauwen, elkaar zoals kleine eenden te volgen. Ze doen alles samen! Oz houdt van rennen en voeten jagen. Dus let op je tenen! Bailey kan behoorlijk lawaai maken, maar niet vaak. Ozzie is stil. Je hoort niets van hen tussen 20:00 en 8:00. Als je ze 'nacht nacht' zegt zeggen ze allebei ‘hallo, hallo, hallo!’ in unison zoals tweelingen. Ze zijn gewend aan een vrouwelijke hoofdverzorger op dit moment. Beiden laten me de kooi dagelijks schoonmaken zonder problemen, ze kijken er naar toe of ik het goed doe. Ze zitten graag op hun lange perch of op de bovenkant van de kooi terwijl ik de papieren verander en de stangen afveeg. Bailey houdt van tonen en hangt aan het plafond van de kooi met zijn snavel! Ozzie is de beste danser en houdt van het tonen van zijn grote vleugels! Ben je geïnteresseerd in adoptie? Zorg ervoor dat je tijd besteedt aan het vertellen hoe je de verzorgingsbehoeften van de vogel waar je voor solliciteert zult kunnen vervullen. De heroveringsploeg gebruikt het formulier om te selecteren, dus neem je tijd om alles te vatten. 3 Zodra je aanvraag is beoordeeld, krijg je te horen of je op de kortlijst staat of niet. Bailey and Ozzie are a bonded Pair of B&G Macaws. Ozzie is approximately 30 years old and Bailey is 14 years old and DNA Male. History/Background: Bailey and Ozzie came into the charity in 2025. Current Condition: Bailey has pretty perfect feathers. Ozzie is rather tatty especially his tail. Training: We are working on it! This will need to be an ongoing process. Both birds are well behaved, they usually go back to the cage when you ask them to and put their food in. Bailey is usually first then Ozzie follows. You can't handle either of them, they don't step up to hands as they never have never been taught. Ozzie will always step up on a stick if you need to move him, but Bailey only sometimes will. They will both take treats gently from your hand. Ozzie is a lot more nervous though and stays back, he likes to fluff up and lunge, to scare you off. Bailey is definitely more outgoing and willing to learn. He's the boss! Diet: The boys have chop/fresh veg during the day and Tidymix or J&J low Sunflower/nuts in the evenings. They love sweet red peppers and their favourite nuts are cashews and walnuts. Ozzie eats more fresh food than Bailey, he is harder to convince. They do need two bowls of everything, so they have one each. However sometimes Bailey likes to think that they are all his! Enrichment: Neither Bird is used to having toys, and there were no suitable size perches in their cage. They now have toys and a variety of perches. They don't mind parrot toys in the cage but do not really play with them. They enjoy scrunched up brown paper and shredding cardboard boxes. Bailey likes to throw cereal boxes from the top of the cage, and he thinks it's great! Bailey also loves a shower, Ozzie doesn't mind, but not as enthusiastic! Summary: They are beautiful birds and have been a pleasure to safe house. I believe with a lot of TLC and patience they will come along in leaps and bounds. Bailey especially as he is a lot more responsive and willing to learn and interact with you. They need a home with a firm, confident owner, who is used to big birds. These guys are not tame, cuddly birds. They are happy doing their own thing. They are used to being out of the cage all day, sitting together and watching the world go by, or waddling round the floor, chewing cardboard, following each other like little ducks. They do everything together! Oz does like to run and chase feet though. So watch your toes! Bailey can be quite loud, but not too often. Ozzie is quieter. You do not hear a peep out of them between 8pm and 8am. When you say night night to them they both say ‘hello, hello, hello!' in tandem like twins. They are used to having a female main carer at present. Both of them let me clean the cage everyday with no problems at all, they like watching to make sure I'm doing it right. They will happily sit on their long perch or on top of the cage while I change the papers and wipe down the bars. Bailey loves showing off and hanging from the roof of the cage by his beak!
