Rusty adopteren

Rusty werd bij ons gebracht in het dierentehuis in Calvià, samen met zijn hondenvriend. Het gezin vertrekt vanaf het eind van de maand. De trouwe oude hond werd in maart elf jaar. Rusty is buitengewoon knap, geweldig, zeer liefdevol en altijd op zoek naar nabijheid, bescherming en aandacht. Hij houdt van mensen en contact met hen, hij vindt kinderen leuk (die al weten hoe je met honden moet omgaan) en lijkt geen problemen te hebben met katten. Helaas is zijn lichamelijke toestand op dit moment verre van goed. Hij heeft veel moeite met lopen met zijn achterpoten. En toch wil hij nog steeds rondlopen. Hij wil er zijn en dicht bij zijn verzorger zijn. Rusty heeft snel vertrouwen in ons opgebouwd, maar heeft grote moeite met de nieuwe situatie in het dierentehuis. En natuurlijk lijdt hij erg aan de koude nachten, die ook zwaar zijn voor zijn gewrichten. Hij heeft een heel goede relatie met zijn hondenvriend Pedrin, maar zou natuurlijk ook naar een geschikt thuis kunnen gaan – want hij is geen concurrent voor zijn jongere en ongelooflijk actieve hondenvriend. We willen zo graag een geschikt thuis of een permanent pleegthuis vinden, liefst hier op het eiland – want we willen hem natuurlijk een lange reis besparen. Rusty heeft in zijn leven niet veel meegemaakt en heeft nu niet nodig om dat in te halen. Veiligheid, een warme, gezellige en uiteraard volledig op de grond gelegen plek, veel aandacht en nabijheid, goed eten en simpelweg behoren – dat is wat Rusty nodig heeft, en dat willen wij zo graag voor hem. Een ding is zeker – hij zal zijn mens een ongelofelijke hoeveelheid teruggeven 🙏…

Rusty was handed in to us at the animal shelter in Calvià, together with his dog buddy. The family is leaving the island at the end of the month. The loyal senior dog turned eleven years old in March. Rusty is incredibly adorable, just lovely, very affectionate and always looking for closeness, protection and attention. He loves people and contact with them, he likes children (who already understand dogs) and seems to have no problem with cats. Unfortunately, his physical condition is anything but good at the moment. He has great difficulty walking with his hind legs. And yet he still wants to move around. He wants to be there and wants to be close to his carer. Rusty has built up trust in us very quickly, but he is having great difficulty with the new situation at the shelter. And of course he is suffering a lot from the cold nights, which are also very hard on his joints. He has a very good relationship with his dog buddy Pedrin, but could of course also go to a suitable home on his own – as he is no match for his younger and incredibly active dog buddy. We would so much like to find a suitable home or a permanent foster home, preferably here on the island – as we would of course like to spare him a long journey. Rusty hasn’t really experienced much in his life and he doesn’t need to make up for it now. Security, a warm, cosy and of course absolutely ground-level place, lots of attention and closeness, good food and simply belonging – that’s what Rusty needs, and that’s what we want so much for him. One thing is certain – he will give his humans an incredible amount in return 🙏…
