Rusty foi entregue a nós no abrigo animal de Calvià, junto com seu amigo cachorro. A família está deixando a ilha no final do mês. O cão idoso leal completou onze anos em março. Rusty é incrivelmente adorável, simplesmente lindo, muito carinhoso e sempre procurando proximidade, proteção e atenção. Ele ama as pessoas e o contato com elas, gosta das crianças (que já entendem os cães) e parece não ter problemas com gatos. Infelizmente, seu estado físico não é nada bom no momento. Ele tem grande dificuldade para andar com suas patas traseiras. E ainda assim ele quer se mover. Ele quer estar presente e quer ficar perto de seu cuidador. Rusty construiu confiança conosco muito rapidamente, mas está tendo grandes dificuldades com a nova situação no abrigo. E claro que ele sofre muito com as noites frias, que também são difíceis para suas articulações. Ele tem uma relação muito boa com seu amigo cachorro Pedrin, mas poderia, é claro, ir para um lar adequado sozinho - pois ele não é compatível com seu amigo cachorro mais jovem e extremamente ativo. Gostaríamos muito de encontrar um lar adequado ou um acolhimento permanente, preferencialmente na ilha - pois claro que gostaríamos de evitar que ele faça uma longa viagem. Rusty não experimentou muito na vida e não precisa compensar isso agora. Segurança, um lugar quente, aconchegante e absolutamente no nível do chão, muita atenção e proximidade, boa alimentação e simplesmente pertencer - é isso que Rusty precisa, e é isso que queremos tanto para ele. Uma coisa é certa - ele dará um imenso retorno aos seus humanos 🙏…

Rusty was handed in to us at the animal shelter in Calvià, together with his dog buddy. The family is leaving the island at the end of the month. The loyal senior dog turned eleven years old in March. Rusty is incredibly adorable, just lovely, very affectionate and always looking for closeness, protection and attention. He loves people and contact with them, he likes children (who already understand dogs) and seems to have no problem with cats. Unfortunately, his physical condition is anything but good at the moment. He has great difficulty walking with his hind legs. And yet he still wants to move around. He wants to be there and wants to be close to his carer. Rusty has built up trust in us very quickly, but he is having great difficulty with the new situation at the shelter. And of course he is suffering a lot from the cold nights, which are also very hard on his joints. He has a very good relationship with his dog buddy Pedrin, but could of course also go to a suitable home on his own – as he is no match for his younger and incredibly active dog buddy. We would so much like to find a suitable home or a permanent foster home, preferably here on the island – as we would of course like to spare him a long journey. Rusty hasn’t really experienced much in his life and he doesn’t need to make up for it now. Security, a warm, cosy and of course absolutely ground-level place, lots of attention and closeness, good food and simply belonging – that’s what Rusty needs, and that’s what we want so much for him. One thing is certain – he will give his humans an incredible amount in return 🙏…
