Adottare Rusty

Rusty è stato consegnato a noi al rifugio per animali di Calvià, insieme al suo amico cane. La famiglia sta lasciando l'isola alla fine del mese. Il fedele cane anziano ha compiuto undici anni nel mese di marzo. Rusty è estremamente carino, semplicemente meraviglioso, molto affettuoso e sempre in cerca di vicinanza, protezione e attenzione. Ama le persone e il contatto con loro, piace ai bambini (che già capiscono i cani) e sembra non avere problemi con i gatti. Purtroppo la sua condizione fisica non è affatto buona al momento. Ha grandi difficoltà a camminare con le zampe posteriori. Eppure vuole ancora muoversi. Vuole essere presente e volersi avvicinare al suo assistente. Rusty ha costruito rapidamente la fiducia in noi, ma ha grandi difficoltà con la nuova situazione nel rifugio. E ovviamente soffre molto delle notti fredde, che sono anche molto dure per le sue articolazioni. Ha un ottimo rapporto con il suo amico cane Pedrin, ma potrebbe comunque andare in una casa adatta da solo – poiché non è all'altezza del suo giovane e incredibilmente attivo amico cane. Vorremmo tanto trovare una casa adatta o una sistemazione permanente, preferibilmente sull'isola – poiché ovviamente vorremmo risparmiargli un lungo viaggio. Rusty non ha veramente vissuto molto nella sua vita e non deve recuperare nulla ora. Sicurezza, un posto caldo, accogliente e naturalmente al livello del suolo, tante attenzioni e vicinanza, buoni cibi e semplicemente appartenere – questo è ciò che Rusty necessita, e questo desideriamo moltissimo per lui. Una cosa è certa – darà ai suoi umani un incredibile ritorno 🙏…

Rusty was handed in to us at the animal shelter in Calvià, together with his dog buddy. The family is leaving the island at the end of the month. The loyal senior dog turned eleven years old in March. Rusty is incredibly adorable, just lovely, very affectionate and always looking for closeness, protection and attention. He loves people and contact with them, he likes children (who already understand dogs) and seems to have no problem with cats. Unfortunately, his physical condition is anything but good at the moment. He has great difficulty walking with his hind legs. And yet he still wants to move around. He wants to be there and wants to be close to his carer. Rusty has built up trust in us very quickly, but he is having great difficulty with the new situation at the shelter. And of course he is suffering a lot from the cold nights, which are also very hard on his joints. He has a very good relationship with his dog buddy Pedrin, but could of course also go to a suitable home on his own – as he is no match for his younger and incredibly active dog buddy. We would so much like to find a suitable home or a permanent foster home, preferably here on the island – as we would of course like to spare him a long journey. Rusty hasn’t really experienced much in his life and he doesn’t need to make up for it now. Security, a warm, cosy and of course absolutely ground-level place, lots of attention and closeness, good food and simply belonging – that’s what Rusty needs, and that’s what we want so much for him. One thing is certain – he will give his humans an incredible amount in return 🙏…
