Adopter Ucraina: Evsei, un cane che rincuora

The horrors of war, of all wars, strike anyone who becomes its victim, but they have an enormous, crushing and terrifying weight on the lives of the youngest, children and teenagers whose existence has suddenly been shattered in the most terrible and unjust way. In Ukraine, affected by the military events, even a small contribution from a dog can be important in facing the suffering and trauma experienced. At the Dr Doc therapeutic center in Zaporizhzhia, in southern Ukraine, there is a special operator who manages to provide some comfort to young refugees: Evsei is a trained spaniel for pet therapy, who offers his canine help with a wagging tail and a caress. Being near a dog provides several physical and psychological benefits - studies, practice and knowledge related to pet therapy know this well - and so, even in a dramatic and frightening situation such as that which these children and their parents are experiencing, glimpses of serenity can be illuminated thanks to a "doctor" in the form of a four-legged friend. The emotional vulnerability of the younger ones can find support in Evsei, who, together with the center's volunteers, does his part so that these children can regain a new normality. Fortunately, the area of Zaporizhzhia is quiet, as Olga Pivtoratska, one of the volunteers, told journalist Fulvio Cerutti, who collected this testimony full of optimism and care, reporting it on La Zampa, a section dedicated to animals in the daily La Stampa. Therefore, Evsei's company turns into a real psychological support for the young guests, who, playing with him, can manage to forget, even if only for a short time, the terrible nightmare they were thrown into. Evsei is a therapy dog and on the little piece of road they will walk together to get out of this drama, he will not leave them alone.

Gli orrori della guerra, di tutte le guerre, colpiscono chiunque ne sia vittima, ma ha un peso enorme, schiacciante e terrificante sulla vita dei più piccoli, bambini e ragazzi la cui esistenza si è ritrovata improvvisamente sconvolta nel più terribile e ingiusto dei modi. Nell’Ucraina colpita dagli avvenimenti bellici anche il piccolo contributo di un cane può essere importante per affrontare la sofferenza e i traumi subiti. Al lavoro presso il centro terapeutico Dr Doc di Zaporizhzhia, nell’Ucraina meridionale, c’è un operatore speciale che riesce a dare un po’ di conforto ai giovani rifugiati: Evsei è uno Spaniel addestrato come cane da pet-therapy il quale tra una scodinzolata e una carezza fornisce il suo aiuto canino. Stare vicino a un cane garantisce diversi benefici psicofisici – gli studi, la pratica e le conoscenze legati alla pet-therapy lo sanno bene – e quindi ecco che anche in una situazione drammatica e spaventosa come quella che stanno vivendo questi bimbi e i loro genitori si possono illuminare scorci di serenità grazie a un “dottore” a quattrozampe. La vulnerabilità emotiva dei più giovani può trovare un appoggio anche in Evsei il quale, insieme ai volontari del centro, fa la sua parte affinché questi bambini siano in grado di ritrovare una nuova normalità. Fortunatamente la zona di Zaporizhzhia è tranquilla, come racconta Olga Pivtoratska, una delle volontarie, al giornalista Fulvio Cerutti che ha raccolto questa testimonianza piena di ottimismo e di cura riportandola su La Zampa , rubrica dedicata agli animali dal quotidiano La Stampa . Una compagnia dunque, quella di Esvei, che si trasforma in un vero e proprio sostegno psicologico per i piccoli ospiti, i quali giocando con lui possono riuscire a dimenticare, fosse anche solo per poco tempo, lo spaventoso incubo in cui sono stati gettati. Evsei è un cane terapeuta e nel pezzetto di strada che percorreranno insieme per uscire da questo dramma non li lascerà da soli.
