Adolfo foi encontrado junto com sua amiga fêmea pastor alemão Astoria na Avenida de Marbella, ambas com coleiras, ambas não castradas. Acredita-se que pertenciam a um acampamento de ciganos ou outros tipos de grupos itinerantes. Levou algum tempo para conhecer melhor Adolfo antes que ele pudesse ser apresentado adequadamente, quando chegaram pela primeira vez, Adolfo era reativo a outros cães na rua e também dava ordens para Astoria, então eles foram separados por um tempo, pois juntos ficavam ansiosos e não conseguiam aproveitar o tempo no canil para correr, rolar na grama, se comunicar com humanos. Agora Adolfo é um cão totalmente diferente e mesmo que todo cão, especialmente o pastor alemão, sofra estresse e infelicidade no abrigo, ele é capaz de se concentrar nos humanos, curtir uma caminhada ao redor do abrigo, correr e cheirar a grama dos canis, mas também sair por dias com voluntários - para a praia, para a natureza. Ele é muito doce e social com os voluntários, e se adapta bem a diferentes situações e humanos, realmente gosta de trabalhar e se envolver com as pessoas. Ele também está muito confortável em ser tocado. Adolfo, como a maioria dos pastores alemães, é muito inteligente, é fácil e agradável trabalhar com ele. Ele também adora lanches, o que torna ainda mais fácil começar treinamentos de obediência, agilidade e trabalho olfativo com ele. Adolfo e Astoria estão vivendo juntos novamente, eles não estimulam mais um ao outro, e realmente gostam de correr juntos no canil. Eles estão disponíveis para adoção juntos, mas também individualmente. Quando um amante de pastores alemães procura um casal que passará muito tempo fora, no quintal, na fazenda etc., adotá-los juntos seria maravilhoso. Quando você procura um pastor alemão que se concentrará em você, um cão para participar de caminhadas, treino de busca, sessões de obediência, recomendamos adotá-los individualmente, pois cada um por si é muito melhor capaz de se concentrar no humano, e os níveis de energia também são menores. Adolfo seria muito feliz sendo um único cão em uma casa, ou adotado juntamente com Astoria, ou se juntar a uma casa com uma fêmea confiante e social já esperando. No entanto, ele não gosta de outros machos com presença dominante, e atualmente prefere não viver em áreas lotadas de outros cães, até que receba boas aulas de socialização canina. Adolfo viaja bem no carro e anda bem na coleira durante seu dia fora do abrigo, andando relaxado e confiante. Fora do abrigo, ele era principalmente neutro com cães de tamanho médio/grande, mas não gostava de cães pequenos e tagarelas. Adolfo não se incomoda com bicicletas, carros, scooters e é respeitoso com humanos que passam. Observamos apenas uma coisa específica - ele tem medo de homens com bengalas... hummm... Adolfo ama trabalhar com seu humano, ama aprender e colocar sua inteligência e potencial físico para trabalhar. Felizmente para ele, ele tem uma coluna bastante reta e não sofre de quadris deformados e baixos, como muitos pastores alemães sofrem. Parece ser um rapaz saudável e capaz, e agora está realmente pronto para sua nova casa! A altura dos ombros dele é aproximadamente 65 cm.

Adolfo was found together with her female German Shephard friend Astoria on the Boulevard of Marbella, both of them wearing collars, both uncastrated. It is believed that they belonged to a gypsy camp, or other types of travelling groups of people. It took us a while to learn more about Adolfo before he could well be presented, when they first arrived, Adolfo was quite reactive to other dogs on the street, and also bossying Astoria around, so they were separated for a while, because together they were anxious and not able to enjoy time in the dogpark, to run, roll in the grass, communicate with humans. By now Adolfo is a totally different dog, and even though every dog, especially German Shephard is very stressed and unhappy in the shelter, then he is well able to concentrate on the human, enjoy a walk around the shelter, run and sniff in the grass of the dogparks, but also to go for days out with volunteers - to the beach, to the nature. He is really sweet and social with the volunteers, and adapts well to different situations and humans, he really enjoys working and engaging with people. He also is very comfortable about being touched. Adolfo, like most German Shephards, is very intelligent, he is easy and pleasant to work with. He also loves snacks, so that makes it even easier to starting training obedience, agility, nosework with him. Adolfo & Astoria are now living together again, they are not hyping each other up anymore, and really enjoy running in the dogpark together. They are available for adoption together, but also separately. When a German Shephard lover is looking for a duo that will spend a lot of time outside, in the yard, on the farm etc, then adopting them together would be wonderful. When you are looking for a Shephard that will focus on you, a dog for joining on hikes, search training, obedience sessions, then we would recommend to adopt them individually, as each on their own is much better able to concentrate on the human, and the energy levels also lower. Adolfo would be very happy to be a single dog of a home, or to be adopted together with Astoria, or join a home with a social confident female already waiting. He however does not like other males with a dominant presence, and he would at the moment prefer not to live in areas crowded with other dogs, until good canine socialisation training is provided for him. Adolfo travels well in the car and walks well on the leash during his day out of the shelter, walking relaxed and confidently. Away from the shelter, he was mostly neutral about medium/bigger size dogs, but he did not enjoy little yappy dogs. Adolfo does not mind bicycles, cars, scooters and is respectful about humans passing by. We just noticed one particular thing - he is afraid of men with walking sticks... hmmm.... Adolfo loves to work with his human, he loves to learn and put his intelligence and physical potential to work. Fortunately for him, he has quite a straight back and does not suffer from lowered deformed hips, like many German Shephards do. He seems to be a healthy, capable boy, and he is really now ready for his forever home! His shoulder height is approximately 65cm.
